Kenya POV

Being born and raised in a small town like Hamilton, NC it isn't much to worry about. Everyone know each other, & there never any problems.

"KENYA!! hurry up girl we need to leave now", my mom called me in to the living room.

We moving somewhere but my mom won't say where or why.

"Do you got everything." My mom said.

"Yeah, where are we gonna go."

"Somewhere we just need to go now." My mom said grabbing clothes out of her dresser.

I'm moving from a place I've lived for 17 years without notice I'm confused on whats going on. My mom has always been a strong women even when my dad and her separated and had to take drastic measures. So it's scary to see her looking nervous and worried.

"Grab them tickets and lets go!" My mom yelled rushing me.

"Hold on we going to Maryland mom I need to know why are we leaving North Carolina so fast", I demanded looking at the tickets and back to her.

"They're just things you dont understand I'll explain everything on the train." Mom reassured.

Honestly I don't wanna leave I haven't had a chance to say bye to all my friends, family ,or even my dad.

A couple of hours later we where on the train leaving North Carolina millions of questions are unanswered that I need too know. First being why is she leaving without notice.

Trisha POV

I want to tell her why we have to leave North Carolina but it would bring up more question and shatter her whole world I'm going to try and explain when we are in Maryland.

"Mom are you going to tell me what's happening." Kenya said with a concerned look on her face.

"Baby there things you just don't understand that I wish I could explain but I can't." I put my arms around her and she laid her head on my shoulder and sighed, couple minutes she dozed off and went to sleep.

I woke up to someone I told to wake me up when we reached Baltimore we've been off and on trains, Kenya and I are exhausted I woke Kenya up I hated that she look so worried about our situation.

"Hey ma." She said rubbing her eyes.

"Hey baby how you sleep."

"Good but I was thinking where are we gonna be staying," she said with concern.

"Don't worry baby I've got a apartment fully furnished waiting on us." I reassured.

Kenya POV

As we got off the train the first thing I notice was how different it was from North Carolina. My mom had a car waiting some old guy drove us to this big apartment building. My mom said he was the owner we thanked him and got out with our bags and went into the building it was nice and had beautiful furniture.

"Mom how you get this place". I asked looking around.

"I know people" she said with a smirk.

I laughed and went to check out my room I had a queen size bed, the covers are red, black and white, the room had a long black dresser with silver handles. I opened that closet it was huge. I went and hung up my dresses, and good clothes and put my casual clothes in my drawers I jumped in the bed and looked at the flat screen right next to the bed.

"Oh My Gosh!" I yelled.

"What!" My mom came running in.

"This TV is wonderful, this room is wonderful."

"Good to know only the best for me and my baby." We laughed, and I went to hug her.

"our past was dim but our future is bright." She said with a smile on her face.

The whole entire day of unpacking was exhausting. I called the owner back to take me grocery shopping while Kenya cleaned up. When I got back I cooked us a good ol' country meal and called Kenya in to eat.

"Kenya time to eat!" I yelled from the kitchen.

"Coming!" She yelled back while I put our plates on the table.

"Ma you still haven't explained what all this was about why we move and couldn't tell anyone." She asked looking at me while we ate.

"Kenya somethings are better left unanswered baby." I told her looking at my plate if she knew the reason it'll hurt her.

"I guess you right." She said looking down. I hate that look on her face.

"Cheer up baby, think of this as a plus to. Girl we in Baltimore Maryland I'm pretty positive that there are some fine ass men here." I said trying to cheer her up, it worked cause she giggled and agreed with me. After we ate went to bed think about our situation and how I hope it get better.
