Since you've been gone. I got a new phone. I got a dog. I broke up with my boyfriend. And got a new one. I lost my virginity. My sister had a baby. My brother moved to Canada. My dad lost his job. My mum got breast cancer. My pop died.

I see you in the hallways at school and we smile politely at each other, as if nothing ever happened. But under the surface we know that we will never be what we once were.

We walk around everyday, carrying around the weight of that night on our shoulders, and I don't know how you cope.

Come back to me. Please. We've grown apart and ever since I've been lost in this world, nobody to turn to in times of need, nobody I can trust to keep a secret. I've been reckless, not caring if my actions will ruin my reputation, trying to get you to notice me, trying to get you to notice how much I need you by my side to protect me.

My grades are slipping, and my life is slipping, too.

"You'll be right, Rosie", Nan tells me.

But I feel broken.

Shattered into tiny pieces, and crushed under the weight of life.
