I pulled the door, 3F, to my dorm open. It's a simple room with 2 beds on opposite walls and 2 desks pushed together in the empty space between them. On the bed to my left I see a girl with medium length black hair pulling on a pair of horrifyingly high heels.

Sensing my presence the girl lifts her head, gives me a wide grin and walks over to me, offering a hand for me to shake. "I'm Sienna," she says as I shake her hand awkwardly. "Avalon," I reply with a smile. "That's a gorgeous name," she babbles "I'm just about to go out for this dinner with some family but we'll have to organise something sometime, after, you know." "Yeah of course," I say with a laugh.

As I'm organising my things from my suitcase into the closet and drawer at the foot of my bed I hear my phone ring. I slide my finger across the screen to answer it, not bothering to check the caller i.d as I already knew who it was. "Hey mum," I say. She instantly bombards me with questions about my trip and dorm.

It's about 8 when I get off the phone with mum so I grab my toiletries and a random pair of pajamas then head towards the bathroom. I take a quick shower because I'm sure the white curtains are basically see through.

My wet hair begins to drip onto my top so I pull it into a bun. I walk out of the bathroom and towards my dorm. There aren't a lot of people in the unit that my dorm is in right now, probably out at parties since school doesn't start until a few days. I didn't bother locking my door because of this.

I pull the door open, drop my toiletries in my open suitcase and climb onto my bed. I grab my laptop from my suitcase and curl up on my bed, with my back to the headboard. Finding a movie to watch I pull my covers over my legs and place my laptop on top.

I shut my laptop lid and pull my now dry hair out of my bun. My phone lights up just as I place my laptop on my drawer which is at the foot of my bed. I check it but it's just a promotional email. It's about 10 so I put my phone on my dresser next to my laptop, walk over to the door to turn off the lights and stumble blindly through to dark towards my bed.

The sound of my alarm blares into my ears making me groan and bury my head into my pillow. "Turn it off," Sienna groans "it's too early." "Get used to it," I grumble as I turn my alarm off. Today I had needed to wake up early as my first class was on the opposite end of the campus from where our dorm was. Tomorrow I would have early morning soccer training as I was part of the UCB soccer team. I groan inwardly.

I stand in front of the bathroom mirror and attempt to brush my teeth without dozing off. Classes hadn't even started and I already had obvious bags under my eyes. Along with soccer I was taking a heap of classes - Journalism, Architecture and Math/Science. They were all totally different but I was definitely going to drop some courses, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do right now so I had chosen to take courses that would make others happy.

After spending ages in front of the mirror desparately trying to cover up my eye bags with makeup I give up, wash it all off and apply a tiny bit of mascara. I was hopeless at makeup, no matter how hard I tried. Despite the fact that it was summer it was still freezing so I wore a white shirt underneath a warm unbuttoned flannel top, a pair of black leggings, a grey scarf and beanie.

As soon as I walk into the cafe the smell of coffee hits me. I didn't have a lot of time so I was just going to grab a wrap and a coffee. Fortunately the line isn't long so I make it to the cashier without wasting much time.

I thank the tall guy with brown hair when he hands me my coffee and wrap. When I push through the doors the cold wraps around me and goosebumps travel up my arms. I stuff the wrap in my shoulder bag and lift the lid of my coffee to add sugar, as I always do. When I look down at my coffee quickly I notice a heart shape made with white foam and I smile to myself. I make a mental note to talk to that guy next time I go to the cafe.

I walk into the room and slump down into the closest empty chair. A low chuckle sounds beside me and I turn my head to see a guy with brown hair styled in a messy quiff and hazel eyes. He's one of the only guys in the massive class. I raise an eyebrow at him and he laughs again.

"Rough morning?" he asks with a small smirk. "Probably not as bad as yours," I say pointing out the obvious bags under his eyes, his disheveled hair and his outfit of sweatpants and a UCB hoodie. He chuckles and runs a hand through his hair "It was probably a bad idea to go to a party yesterday, hey?" He says. I look at him and find myself laughing.

"What's your name?" He asks after a moment of silence. "Avalon," I say with a smile "what's yours?" "Jeremy," he replies looking at me then smiling at the ground.

I walk out of the class and wave good bye to Jeremy then turn away from him. A warm hand wraps around my wrist and I turn around to see Jeremy. "Are you busy on Saturday?" He asks. I raise my eyebrows at him and as if reading my mind he says "not on a date, my friends will be there." I shrug "probably, text me about it," I say.

Jeremy nods and begins to walk away before whirling back around. "What's your number?" He asks, pulling his phone out. My fingers hover above the screen, about to type my phone in. "Wait, how do I know you and your friends aren't actually pyscho axe murderers?" He chuckles "I could say the same about you." I laugh and type my number in.

"See you soon?" He half asks, half says as he shoves his phone back into his hoodie pocket. I nod and smile before walking away.
