Chapter one.

"Your what!!"

"Lola please listen to us"

"Dad no, i don't want to go to Australia, i never get to see you and mum as it is! and now your shipping me off to the other side of the world! all my friend are here!!"

"Lola hunny, you need to listen to us okay, that is our point, we are never here, i can't remember the last time we sat and had dinner as a family. You've had to cook your own food and done your own washing. Your a teenager Lola, you should be having fun out with your friends not acting like a parent" my mum had a point

" I understand that mum, but I'm going to miss you guys. I'm never gonna see you now" i said.

" Don't you see Lola darling, it will be perfect. You can have a new start. It'll be easier on me and you mum, not having to worry about you constantly. And your uncle mike really needs your help and support, with aunty Claire's illness. He needs all the help he can get with the twins, he's really struggling to get them to school on time, you could help out with that i know how much you love children. It'll be a new start for you hunny"

" I'm not happy! but i understand, when do i leave?"

"Thursday" my dad said with a sympathetic smile.

"Thursday!! but today's Monday. I have like three days?!"

"Yep, i know its short notice, we've got the boxes so you can start to pack when your ready" my mum said pointing at a pile of boxes.

I got up of the chair in the kitchen and grabbed a pile of boxes and ran up the stairs, tears threatening to fall, but I managed to hold them back. I slammed my bedroom door and sloped down with my back agains the door. I pulled my iPhone out and text my 3 best friends.

'I'm moving to Australia'

Hi, my name is Lola, I'm sixteen, I'm about 5'7 have long brown hair and green eyes, and have recently moved to Australia to live with my uncle Mike and his family.

My parents were both surgeons at a hospital back in the Uk. They were very important and very good at their job. They were forever working and constantly being called in to work. I was lucky if isaw them for maybe 6 hours a week. I was at school or at gymnastics while they were at home, and when I was at home they were usually at work or were sleeping because they'd just finished a shift.

I am an only child. So never seeing my parents got really boring and lonely. I wasn't that popular girl who was friends with everyone in the school and that every guy wanted, dont get me wrong I wasn't a loner i had friends but just not a lot, I had my 3 best friends: Hanna, steph and Fleur and thats all i needed. I told them everything. They were the first people i told when I found out i was being shipped off to Australia.
