TIt all started when Miguel and Beatrice transferred to Hillside Academy. He is like any other guy at Hillside Academy except he’s not. During his first day he became the most popular guy in school. Everybody wants to know how tall he is, the exact color of his eyes, the shade of his hair, his address, his phone or mobile number, his age and birthday. Everybody wants to be Miguel’s friend and girlfriend, everybody except Alfred Lacson.

“So you’re the new kid.” Alfred said. He is the most popular student at Hillside Academy before Miguel came. He is the king of everything just because he’s handsome and rich. When Miguel came he was instantly kicked out of the picture. Miguel, being the gentleman, just shrugged and continued walking to avoid a fight.

“Don’t turn your back on me while I’m still talking.” He said punching Miguel hard on the face. Luckily Ms. Amy Pascual saw the incident and called Mr. Lacson for detention leaving Miguel covered with his own blood. No one knew about that since it happened in one of the deserted corridors of Hillside Academy. No one noticed that it is not deserted, because someone is hidden at the back of her locker and saw the whole scene.

The next day Alfred went to school badly bruised. Ron Alvarez gave Miguel a high five saying, “Wow! You knocked the breath out of him dude! Way to go!”

Confused, Miguel turned around and saw Alfred, “I didn’t do that!” Alfred knew better than to retaliate at what Miguel did. He wanted to crush him into pieces but the letter left to him after that unfaithful night where he got his bruises stopped him. Deep down he knows that the letter is not an empty threat, he was suddenly afraid he will get hurt again. The letter said:

NEVER EVER TOUCH MIGUEL FONTANILLA AGAIN. IF YOU DO I’LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU WILL GO STRAIGHT TO HELL.

Until that day no one, dare I say it, no one ever had a fight with Miguel Fontanilla.

That was just the start of it all. After a week of settling in their new environment. Miguel suddenly developed a huge crush on Samantha Lacson, Alfred’s younger sister. Miguel ignored the fact that Samantha is Alfred’s sister and asked her out.

“Hi, Samantha right? I’m Miguel…” he said extending his hands to Samantha.

“Miguel Fontanilla, I know.” She said smiling sweetly. Samantha is lovely. She is bubbly and fun to be with it’s as if she lights up every room she enters. It’s as if you’re in cloud nine just by seeing or walking pass by her.

“I know that your brother and I are not really in good terms…”

“Good terms as in he won’t consider you as his best friend. Yes, I know exactly what happened Miguel.” She said the smile on her lips grew brighter which made Miguel a whole lot confident.

“Yeah. Well all I’m asking is if you’re still available for the Homecoming Ball? I mean I would love to have you as my date.” Samantha blushed so deep her face resembled an apple.

“And if I go out with you Ms. Sy wouldn’t be jealous?” By the mere mention of Beatrice’s name, Miguel’s heart tightened as if it were to shatter into pieces. He asked her first alright, but she already told him that he is going out with someone else.

“He’s going with Ron.” Miguel replied. And so there they are, Samantha being the happiest junior in the planet is going to be Miguel Fontanilla’s date at the Homecoming Ball…

Or not…

At the night of the Homecoming Ball Miguel is already in the front doorstep of the Lacson’s residence. In one hand is a beautiful bouquet for Samantha. If only she could’ve seen it. Her mother answered the door, “Oh, you just missed her dear. Just find her at the ball okay?”

Confused Miguel went to the ball alone…

And…

LEFT THE BALL ALONE TOO…

If only he got to ask Beatrice first instead of Ron then this night might just be perfect. And she wouldn’t have to worry about the vanishing act of her date.

So what happened to Samantha Lacson?

The next day came and when Miguel saw her walking to the corridor, he called out for her.

“Hey Samantha!” Samantha just continued walking, as if she hadn’t heard a thing. “Ms. Lacson!” Miguel shouted. Nope. Nothing. From then on Samantha Lacson removed all the connections linking her to Miguel Fontanilla. A few days after that she moved to America where she can live at peace.

That’s when the blogs, messages and IMs started… and it all started with this very single entry…
