Peter didn't want you to get caught up in anything. What he and his teammates did was dangerous, and he wanted to keep you safe. Of course you didn't listen; Peter was close to you, and you were close to him, and you wanted to stay with him to make sure he was safe. Peter, nor you, couldn't have seen Ego as a villain, as evil. As attacking you. Attacking Peter. But you weren't about to leave. You were caught up in the one thing Peter didn't want you to be caught up in.
