The rest of the week went by pretty smoothly after that. Now it was the weekend and most of the students were visiting Hogsmead.

Among the few that stayed behind was Draco. He had been invited by Pansy and Blaise, but he ultimately decided against it. He just didn't feel like being seen with Harry and his friends.

Now he was sitting on his bed and looking out the window at the mountains in the distance. He decided that he liked the view. Being a Slytherin, and therefor being housed in the dungeon, he wasn't used to seeing beautiful sights outside of a window.

As he was admiring the mountains, he noticed a figure in the distance. It kept flying closer and closer. Draco saw that it was a large bird. More specifically, his family's pet owl.

Draco sat on his knees and unlatched the window, pushing it open enough to let the creature in.

When the owl came inside, it landed on the bed and sat in front of him; placing a package on the bed before flying off again.

Draco latched the window again and looked at the package that now rested on his bed. He picked it up and discovered it to be quite heavy. As he examined it, he found a scroll attached. He unrolled it and read the note to himself.

Dear Draco,

Heard about what happened to Slytherin House. So sorry for the misfortune. Hopefully these will help make the transition easier.

Love,

Mother

Draco couldn't help but smile at his mother's words of encouragement. He opened the package carefully, so as not to damage what was inside.

When he saw what was inside, Draco's smile only grew wider. It was filled with all kinds of his favorite candy and chocolates from Honeydukes.

As he started to dig into the sweets, Draco heard the door to his room open.

"Hello, Potter." He said, turning to face his roommate. What he saw shocked him. Harry was all bruised and beaten, as if he had just gotten into a fight.

"Harry!" Draco exclaimed, running up to him. "What happened to you? You look like Hell!"

"Your friends happened to me." Harry explained.

"What?" Draco asked, giving a confused expression.

"Crabbe and Goyle." He told his roommate. "I was walking around Hogsmead with Ron and Hermione when they cornered me. They told me they wanted me to stay away from you. Then they just roughed me up a bit to show they were serious. But, whatever. It's no big deal." Harry sat down on his bed and looked out the window, not saying anything else.

Draco sighed and looked back at the package on his bed. Then he got an idea.

As Harry looked out the window, he felt someone sit on his bed. He looked and saw Draco sitting with the package between them.

"What is this?" Harry asked, looking at the package.

"It's just a little something from my mother." Draco explained. "It's a few candies that I liked when I was younger. I just thought that, since there is more than enough for one person, maybe you'd want to have some as well?"

"Why though?" Harry asked. "Why are you acting kind to me all of a sudden?"

"Well, you showed me kindness a few days ago when you brought me food. I just thought I would return the favor." Draco explained, pushing the box closer to Harry. "Well, go on then. Just, save the chocolate frog for me. That's my favorite."

Harry nodded and started to dig into the contents of the package.

"Oh. And, Harry?" Draco said, looking at his roommate. "Don't worry. I'll be sure to give Crabbe and Goyle an earful for hurting you."

"Thank you, Draco." Harry gave him a kind smile. "Wait. Did you just call me Harry?"

"N-no!" Draco stuttered. "Of course not! You're just hearing things." He said, adding "Stupid Potter" under his breath.

The two of them ate the candy in silence.
