I got my casts taken off today. The doctor told me not to walk on them, since they haven't been used for a while. He scheduled my physical therapy sent me back to my room with a high-five.

"Aren't you so glad you're out of them?" Jane exclaimed.

"Yeah, I guess. Now I need to shave!" I joked.

"Sadie! So in school today, this girl came up to me and asked me to marry her! I didn't know what to do, so I told her that I would ask for your permission first! She really likes me," Wyatt basically screamed at me.

"You're too young! I don't give you permission, Wyatt. Unless," I drew out.

"Unless what? I really like her," he pouted.

"Unless there's chocolate cake at the wedding," I finished.

His smile went back up and nodded furiously. It was times like this when I wondered what Wyatt thinks about in his free time.

"The doctor said you can leave in a week, after you're finished with your physical therapy. He thought since you stayed for longer than needed anyways, you'd like to learn how to walk before going back," Jane said while eating strawberries from a container she brought.

"I... I want to stay. Just until I can walk again." No, you just want to stay with Connor for as long as possible, a voice in my head told me. I brushed it off.

"Trent came home to visit a few days ago. He asked where you were and I didn't know if you wanted me to tell him what happened so I told him you were with your friend," she informed me.

"I don't want you to tell him. Thanks for covering," I said gratefully.

Jane nodded and smiled at me. I'm so thankful for her. I thought.

"Now, what about that boy you hang out with?" asked Jane.

"What about him?" I tried to pass carelessly.

"Oh nothing, he just seems like a really nice kid. I mean taking time out of his life to hang out with you is pretty big commitment."

"Thanks mom."

She just chuckled in return. She definitely suspects something. It's funny because it's like watching a detective search for something that doesn't exist. I don't like Connor. I truly don't. That doesn't mean he's not important though. He's been such a huge part of my life that if he suddenly left it, I wouldn't know what to do.

"Jane, am I missing a lot in school? I mean, I've been out for almost a month now," I pondered out loud to her.

"Well, you're a smart girl, you can catch up. Plus, you finished all the midterms before you ended up here so I think you're good," she smiled at me.

I sighed in relief. I didn't want school work to drown me even more when I get out of here. Connor's been temporarily out of the hospital for three days, to catch up on his normal life. He told me he does this once a month, just so he isn't so overwhelmed by everything if he actually does get released. Clever, if you ask me.

"What about Wyatt? Is he married yet?" I asked her with a small smile.

"Oh, about that. The girl asked her dad and he was against it, so Wyatt was devastated for about three days," she laughed.

"The poor thing!"

Wyatt took this time to walk over to me with his math homework. Speak of the devil, I thought. He asked for help, and so I spent the rest of the day doing subtraction and chatting with my family.
