"You know Liam has a huge crush on you, right?" Alex said sitting way too close to Jaxon on the sofa. Jaxon turned away from him.

Of course, he knew. Liam wasn't exactly subtle and Jaxon was not an idiot, but he wasn't prepared to acknowledge it yet. He knew that was unfair but, as he'd been told several times before, he had to think of himself first.

"What?" he asked, choosing to feign innocence.

Alex leaned in. "Don't think you fool me, Jaxon Suttcliffe." Jaxon didn't like the way Alex dragged his name out. "You know and you have no idea what to do about it."

Alex's minty breath tickled Jaxon's nose. When he realised that Jaxon wasn't going to grace him with an answer, Alex continued.

"You don't know how to tell him you don't like him back. You're scared it will hurt his feelings." Alex scoffed as he watched Jaxon squirm.

"At least I'm not like you, using people to get what I want then ditching them, breaking hearts," Jaxon argued jabbing Alex's chest.

Alex placed his hand over his heart. "Aw, are you saying I broke your heart?" he asked sweetly. "Boohoo. Emotions make you weak, I understand that. And if no one else does, that's their fault, more fun for me. I can't help it if people are practically begging me to ruin their lives."

Jaxon glared at Alex. "You are sick in the head, Alex. If you think you're getting to me, you are wrong. I know you. Four years-"

"Has taught you nothing," Alex said finishing his sentence. He leaned in closer with a menacing look on his face. "I know you. I know how some nights you cry yourself to sleep, I know how sometimes you are tempted to start what you stopped years ago and I know most days you hate yourself." Alex listed. He suddenly smiled. It scared Jaxon how easy it was for Alex to change his mood like that. "But you're lucky I have a soft spot for you. I'll solve your problem with Liam."

"If you lay a single hand on him..." Jaxon began.

Alex laughed. "Now, when have I ever physically hurt someone? You know that's not my style."

"I swear on my life Alex if you hurt him in any way-" Jaxon gripped tightly onto one of the sofa's cushions.

"I'll admit I was wrong earlier. Clearly, you are head over heels for that boy. God knows why. I suppose I'll leave you two to figure things out..."

Inside, Jaxon was bubbling with anger. No matter what he did Alex always got to him. Every. Single. Time. It made his blood boil. What he wouldn't give to strangle him right there and then.

"I know exactly what you're thinking Jaxie and if you think that trying to hurt me will get you anywhere I will make you pay. Though I'm sure you already know that."

Jaxon was completely and utterly sick of Alex and his stupid mind games. He stood up knowing that if he didn't leave soon, things would only get worse.

"Hey, where are you going Jaxie?" Alex asked innocently as he tugged Jaxon back onto the sofa. "We were just having a nice little conversation."

Jaxon threw Alex's arm off and stood up again. This time, Alex stood with him.

"Leave me alone," Jaxon said, nudging Alex so he could get past. Alex didn't budge so he pushed a bit harder.

"Ow!" Alex cried as he fell on to the sofa. "My arm."

"Shut up!" Jaxon shouted. "For god's sake, be quiet!"

Still, Alex clutched his shoulder contorting his face into one of pain. "I'm sorry, I don't know what I did but I'm sorry." He wasn't looking at Jaxon anymore though, his eyes were focused on something behind him.
