I ended up skipping a bit of the beginning of what had previously happened with me and Jake and the gangs, mainly just me living with the couple from The Grey Wolves to the first time I arrived at the Dawnti Residence I left out. I did say a bit about me living with Jake since my previous 'parents' were killed and that the Mafia and The Black Thorns were originally against each other, mainly just the necessary things. Both Jake and I took turns telling parts of what has happened, and the five people in front of us just sat there, patiently waiting until we were done to wrap their heads around everything.
"And now Thane has contacted me, saying that he's after me and everyone I care about, and that's including all of you too," I said, gesturing to all five of our friends.
"But I thought you killed him at the battle back at Re&Ce, the restaurant you guys went to?" Al asked, clearly confused.
"Yes well, apparently he isn't dead. Even though I gave him a pretty fatal shot, he must have gotten taken cared of after we left the restaurant, by who, I don't know for sure yet," I replied.
"Thane knows about all of you and he can get any information he pleases. We doubt he would go after any of your families, that's too distant for him. He wants to hit us close to home. He wants to make his hits hard and effective so that he could get the reaction from us that he wants," Jake added.
"I honestly can't seem to remember seeing him at school at all, I'm not even sure if he was in any of my classes," Aspen said.
"He's the same age as all of us, and he usually seemed to hang out a lot with his three friends. I think their names were Adlar, Boris, and Hamza," I said.
"Those all sound like Dutch names," Sally commented.
"That's because they are. Apparently, The Grey Wolves only take in people with a close Dutch ethnicity. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the only gang around here who does that, others are just not that picky." Jake said, knowing how things worked in our world.
"Okay, so I get that Thane is after us and all, but what do we do know?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah, I mean, I don't think any of us are fit to be in a gang of any sort. We don't even know how to fit properly let alone use any sort of weapon," Ari added.
"You'd be surprised of the stuff you can actually do, you just don't know it yet. It may seem scary or unsettling at first, but you all will get very good at the stuff we do here. And plus, you guys won't have to do everything me and Jake do," I said, pointing to the both of us. "Jake and I will do the more messy stuff, we just need to make sure you all are able to defend yourselves in any case of a threat."
"I think I can do that, I just don't want to do any killing," Sally said.
"Now, we can't promise you that you'll never have to kill anyone. You have our word that we will do our best to make sure you don't come across that situation, but in this world, you never know what the next day will bring you," I replied. Thankfully they seemed to understand what they were all in and what they had to do. I knew they all trusted us, so the best we could give them was our word that we would do our best to protect them from the more haunting stuff that me and Jake did.
"What type of stuff would we do to prepare ourselves for this?" Aspen asked.
"There is lots of training that goes on with the stuff that people do here. There are four separate areas of training that go on, there is combat, gun usage, technology, and security training. I ended up doing all of those except security when I first arrived, they didn't think I would do good in that field. So I just trained in all the others, they have professionals who teach you the stuff you need to know in order to survive," I answered.
"All of you could probably do a bit of everything, you just won't spend the amount of time that Elisa did on them since we're on a timed schedule here trying to get things done. We'll just get them to teach you all the most necessary things needed so you can start helping us out with other stuff," Jake added.
"Will this training take place here? Or somewhere else?" Charlie asked.
"It will take place back at Jake's parent's house, the Moretti Residence. That's where I got my training done, they have some really good people there to train you," I said.
"But where will we stay now? It's getting pretty late," Ari commented.
"You all will stay here for now, at my parent's house. The guest bedrooms have already been set up for you all, there are a total of three guest bedrooms so two girls in two of them and Al can have the third one," I said, bringing them all to the staircase.
"All your stuff has been brought upstairs already so you just have to put it into your rooms," Jake said, stopping at the staircase. Me and Jake led them all up the stairs and gestured them to their desired rooms. After they were all settled in, I went to the balcony that overlooked the front foyer and it wasn't until a few minutes later when felt Jake's strong arms wrap around my waist. He held me close to his warm body and held me tight as if, if he were to let go, I would just slip away.
"What are you thinking, darling?" He whispered into my ear in a calm voice.
"Just trying to think of how we are going to do this,"
"Don't you worry that pretty little head of yours, you have me to lean on. And we always get through things together, and we will always win."
