I woke up gasping for air as I was drenched with ice water from a bucket someone had poured above my head. The ice pieces hit me in the face, leaving marks as they slid off my cheeks, falling to my soaked lap. My head hung downwards, letting all the water from my face drip onto the floor. My hair dropped down the sides of my face, seeing them from the corners of my eyes, water making the strands of hair reflect in the light. I lifted my head slowly up, realizing that I couldn't move my hands or feet. The man in front of me was tall giving off a dark, mysterious vibe, and strangely familiar. He smiled, like he was satisfied with my current situation. I fiddled with my fingers, trying to see what was tied around my hands keeping them together. I felt the roughness of rope tightly wrapped around my wrists, keeping them together in place. I assumed that my feet were tied together with the same thing, making sure that I wouldn't be able to move out of the chair they set me in. Every corner of the room was made of cement, to the floor and ceiling to all four walls. There was a window set in front of us placed next to a metal door that reflected against the strips of light that were set in the ceiling.
"Man, you look like shit," the man in front of me said. It was something about his voice that really caught me off guard, similar to how I felt like I had seen him somewhere before. I then suddenly remembered where I saw him. He was fighting side by side with Eric in the battle at Re&Ce. He used to by Eric's right-hand man, the one that must have gotten Thane out of the battlefield before he died of the gunshot wound I gave him.
"I could say the same for you, especially with the previous leader you used to work for. Being Eric's right-hand man must really take a toll out of you, I guess it's a good thing he's dead," I said with a smile. That must've pissed him off good as he kept trying to keep his composure. He turned around, walked towards the door and took a deep breath. I kept my head held high and leaned back in my chair, watching how he ate my words that I threw at him. He practically ran back towards me so fast it just seemed like a blur. He grabbed me by the collar of my shirt, practically lifting me off my chair and gave me a swift punch to the face. He then dropped me back down, walking away from my chair. Spikes of pain stabbed my cheek, mouth, and nose as those were the places that took the most impact. I felt the warm metallic taste of blood fill in my mouth. I leaned to the side and lowered my head as I spit the blood I had in my mouth onto the floor. I then raised my head to face the man that was in front of me that turned his body to face mine.
"Is that all you got? Seems pretty weak to me," I said. It seemed like he was just going to keep punching me until the only door that led into the room opened, revealing probably the most hated person I know. Thane. He strolled into the room, looking me over as his eyes met mine. Walked over to me and placed his hand under my chin and raised my head high enough to have the light shine in my eyes. He then took his thumb and wiped the blood that was leaking out of the corner of my mouth. His hands on my face made me cringe with disgust, it made me not even want to think of what he's done with those hands of his. He smiled, similar to the one his friend here gave, but just as happy to see I got what was coming to me. His smile then left as quickly as it came with his expression suddenly changing. He raised his hand up and back behind his head then brought it down fast enough to smack my face hard enough to almost make me fall off my chair. I could feel the heat rising up against the left side of my face as my head dropped over in front of me.
"Now, let's have some fun shall we?" Thane said as he slowly walked away from the chair I currently sat in. "I'll make it easy for you, since like I said before, I'm such a nice person. All you have to do is answer some questions."
"Go to hell," I muttered under my breath.
"Oh don't worry, I'm not going anywhere just yet. I came to get what I want first, then we can see where you'll end up later."
