Grand Finale

When we got into the kitchen Gabby had some sandwiches, chips and juice for both of them. Luca sits down and accidently bumps into the counter and hits is arm. He whimpers and tears roll down his face. I say "Luca can my friend," is all I get out before he starts shaking even more. "Shh easy he wouldn't hurt you it's Gabby's dad he's safe I promise I told him about what you told me and he said it may be dislocated. I'll be right beside you the whole time I promise." He thinks about it for a minute then nods. "Ok he's on his way so finish eating then we can get your arm looked at ok?" he nods then eats. Soon there is a knock on the door and he looks at me I give him a small smile then open the door. Luca looks a little afraid but Mr.D notices and gives him a small smile and sets down his medical bag. He walks over to Luca and says "Can you sit on the coffee table for me?" Luca looks at me and I nod he walks over and Mr.D comes over to me and asks me "Do you think you can get him to take off his shirt? It would be easier and quicker."  "I'll try"  I walk over and bend down to his level and say "Hey Luca I need you  to take your shirt off. I promise it's just so he can tell what the injury is and why it hurts. I'll be right here beside you the entire time." "You promise?" "Promise" I help him get his shirt off and Mr.D comes in. He kneels down next to Luca and says "I'm going to move your shoulder a couple different ways and you tell me when it hurts and how much on a scale of 1 to 10." Luca nods then Mr.D moves his shoulder to the right, "10" moves it to the left "10" moves it up "10" moves it down "10" He's crying and whimpering and trying to get away. Mr.D lets go and he runs to me. I hold him and run his back soothingly lulling him. He settles down the Mr.D says "It's dislocated. It needs to be put in place and in a sling." I nod then look down at Luca and say "Hey Mr.D needs to put your shoulder back in place and it will help it stop hurting." he nods then Mr.D says "it will help if he sits in your lap." I nod then Luca sits in my lap.  Mr.D walks over slowly then in one swift move has Luca's shoulder in it's place. Luca screams and clings to me shaking and sweating. I wrap my arms around him holding him to my chest and lull him as Mr.D backs up slowly. When Mr.D leaves Luca calms down a little so I gently turn him in my arms and says softly "Hey bud it's over you're safe I promise." he nods then I say "You want to sleep?" he nods and I carry him the the extra bed room in our cabin. I set him on the bed than Gabby sets his sister down next to him and tucks them in. Me and Gabby walk into our bedroom and watch t.v until we drift off.

When I wake up I head into the kitchen to see Luca making breakfast. I walk up to him and rest my hand on his shoulder and he starts shaking. He almost knocks bacon grease on himself so I quickly move him away from the stove. He says "I'm sorry breakfast isn't done sir." while shaking looking at his feet. I turn off the oven and walk back over. I say "Luca hey relax it's ok. You don't have to make breakfast I can do it it's okay I promise." "I'm sorry" he whimpers holding back tears.

I gently wrap him in a hug and say "Hey shhh.... it's alright now relax." he does so I let go and walk him to the dining room table. He sits down so I finish breakfast. I set down a plate for him and he gobbles it up in a second. I chuckle then Gabby walks down holding the girl. I get them plates and we all eat.

3 Months Later

It's been 3 months since we've had Luca and he has adjusted well along with his sister. Today he meets the rest of the crew. We figured out it's easier if he meets them one by one so thats what we are doing. Luca and Olivia walk into the kitchen and I say "You ready bud?" he nods and off we go.

6 Months Later

Luca is friends with the whole crew and is thriving in school. Me and Gabby are engaged and are expecting. I am so blessed but none of this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't fell for the coachs daughter.
