Chapter 5

When I got inside i went straight to my room. I was exhausted. I put on my PJs and rolled into bed. I turned Netflix on and put One Tree Hill on. fifteen minutes later my phone rings. It was Jack. I picked up and said "hello?" jack said "hello Serena." I laughed and said "hiii" he said "how would you like to come to my family BBQ tomorrow?" I said "I'd love to but your going to be there so then I think I better not." he laughed "I feel the love." he replied. "I'm just messing with you, i would love to goto the BBQ." I said. he said "now I feel the love." I laughed. "bring a bathing suit but don't wear it." I said "ok!" "and u can bring friends if you want." "sounds great!" I said. "I getting tiered, I'll see you tomorrow ok?" I said. Jack replied "ok! Goodnight Serena." I smiled and said "Goodnight Jack."

The next morning I woke up at 8:00am. I headed down stairs to cook breakfast. I made eggs. As I was making eggs I heard the door bell ring. Danielle was passed out and my parents were at work so I had to go see who it was. There was a girl outside with orange fluffy hair. She kinda creeped me out so I walked away from the door. but then I heared "Serena it's Elena and Mahogany!" In my head I said "ohhh." I opened the door. "Hey girl!" Elena said. I said "hey!" Elena said "this is my friend mahogany." I said "hi nice to meet you." then smiled. I said "come in. I making eggs you guys want some?" they both replied "sure!" After I was done cooking we all sat down at my table. I said "so what are you guys doing here?" mahogany said "oh nothing.." I raised my eye brows and said "No one just gets up and goes to some ones house at eight in the morning for nothing." Elena said "fine, we heard your going to Jacks BBQ!?" I replied "yeah.." Then laughed. Mahogany said "no ones been invited to his family party's since you know who..." I said "who?" she said "his ex girlfriend..." I said "who was she and what happen!?"Here name is Julia and her and Jack dated for about two and a half years and literarily did everything together and never lied to each other they were perfect. But then one day Julia slept with mike.." mahogany said. "oh my, who's mike?" "Jacks bestfriend until what happen, He went through such a dark phase and haven't let any girls into his life until you. " Mahogany said. "oh my gosh! why would she ever do such a thing to jack!? And if anything why would she do it with jacks bestfriend!? She's dumb." Elena said "exactly, that's why were so suprised he asked you to come." "He said I could bring friends, do you guys want to come?" I said. They both said "id love to."

I cleaned up breakfast and we went upstairs. I said "what should I wear? he said to bring a bathing suit." "Just wear high wasted shorts and a flowy crop top." Elena said. I said "ok!"

(Eight hours later)

"Woah look at the time! We have to go." I said. We got in Mahoganys car. ten minutes later we arrived. "I'm scared." I said. Elena said "don't be S." We got out of the car and headed to the backyard. I searched for Jack but I didn't see him. So we just went onto the deck. "Hey ladies." some guy said. we all said "hiiii" the guy said what bought ya'll here?" then Jack interrupted. "Hey Serena." "Hey jack." I replied with a smile. "Don't mind my brother." I laughed "Want to meet my family?" "Of course!" We started to walk. "This is my grandpa." I smiled and said it's a pleasure to meet you." He replied "The pleasure is mine." I smiled. "So tell me about your self." he said. I said "My name is Serena Davis, I'm sixteen years old, I just moved here not too long ago from New York and I love sports exshally baseball." He smirked and said "very nice, who's your favorite baseball team?" "I'm still a Yankees fan." I said kind of nervously. He said my name is " Robert Gilinsky." My mouth dropped. "The Robert Gilinsky? The one who striked the most amount of people out in history?" he replied "yes that's me." with a smile. Jack interrupted, "My mom wants to meet you." I said "okay! nice meeting you robert." he said "please, call me grandpa." I smiled and said "ok." We walked over to his mom. I was a nervous wreck. What is she hates me? what if it gets awkward? does she know what happen between Jack and Julia? I said in my head. I quickly snapped back into the real world. I put a smile on. Jack said "Mom this is Serena, Serena this is my mom." I said "Hi nice to meet you mrs. Gilinsky." She smiled and said "Please call me mom." and we shook hands. Jack said "Lets go see my dad." I said "okay! Nice meeting you!" With a smile. she smiled back. We found his dad and Jack introduced us. Then we started walking. "I hope this isn't awkward for you." I said "Not at all." he smiled and said "Ok good." We found my friends. "Hey guys!" they all said "Hey girl!" "Jackkkk come here!" his grandpa said. I stayed with the girls. "I'm hungry." mahogany said. I said "Same." We went and got food.

POV of Jack:

"Yes grandpa?" I said. "you got a keeper over there." He said. I said "I hope so, even when she finds out the truth about who I really am."
