Dark Water

// pt. 1

  I had a odd tone in my voice, and somehow my voice trembled. There was a small crack in my voice, too. "Sir, I-I can't remember.. I'm s-sorry.." The Chief snapped, "Don't lie kid, you have one chance to get out of here on a simple 1 months' time." I rubbed my eyes, tiny droplets forming. "I don't know who I am.. P-please.." The other officer yelled, his tone harsh and unforgiving. I was pretty intimidated by him to be fair. "CHIEF, we best handcuff Arian Monroe now. He won't budge! Why won't you work with us, kid?!" 

   In a trembling voice, I quietly spoke. "But I really can't reme--" The Chief cut me off. "Get a lie detector, we'll see what happens." I gulped in worry. A bit of anxiety was flowing through my body. I had nothing to hide, but it was still pretty scary to have a lie detector test, and getting surrounded by police.

A few hours later..

  "Hello, Chief?" An officer called out, his badge read 'Brendon.' Brendon is a pretty cute name.. Honestly. I had no clue where the Chief was, truly. Brendon then looked at me, "Y-you're that Arian chick... The thief, the killer, the psychopath!" He seemed to be shocked. I didn't know what he was talking about. So, I replied, "Pardon?" Brendon shook a little. "You've gotta be faking with me, Ari. I know who you are. You're an absolute killer." 

  Another officer burst in, as Brendon nodded to them. Their badge read 'Drake'. They had a nervous look plastered on their face. "Brendon- Bad news.." Brendon then stopped looking over at my direction, and attentively turned to Drake.

  "Chief. He-" Drake gulped, melancholy arisen in his tone. "He.. got shot. Like, 30 minutes ago.."

Brendon's mouth gaped, and violently stared at me. "You! You did this! You planned it all with your little murder buddies, and killed Chief! Didn't you?!"

I never knew I could get accused just like that.. I wonder what I was like before I lost my memory..
