9:00 PM, Dinner @ Red Lobsters
"So, tell me a little about yourself." Marc was my blind date. His first impression on me was pretty good.
"Well, I'm 24 and I work as a Real Estate Agent. I've been living here in Los Angeles for over 20 years, ever since my parents moved here basically."
"Okay so I'm guessing it's my turn now?" He laughed. His laugh was sexy.
"Yes."
"Alrighty, so I moved here about 7 years ago to get my degree in engineering. After I got it, my life has been busy. My job, my kids-"
"Kids?" I cut him off. I was looking for someone who wasn't messing around with some other lady.
"Yeah, my wife had died of cancer last year. Ever since then my life hasn't been the same. I'm just trying to love again."
At that point I started to feel bad. Damn, my assumptions always get the best of me. But that doesn't mean he's telling the truth either.
"Aww, I know how it feels to lose a loved one. My uncle passed away a few months ago."
The rest of a conversation was basically a game of 'Get to Know Me.' We exchanged numbers and drank red wine together. I winced when the cold wine ran down my throat. I'm just not used to the strong 'LA Wine' taste yet.
I took another sip and saw that Marc was staring at me from the corner of my eyes.
He caught me looking back at him and said, "Sorry, I just can't get over the fact at how sexy you look tonight. Is this your natural face?"
I looked at him, kind of like a 'What the hell did you just say' look. How are you going to ask someone if that's their 'natural face?' Seriously? This date already is a flop. I knew I shouldv'e followed my instincts and said 'NO' to the offer.
"Excuse me? What do you think, I got plastic surgery to impress you? I don't inject silicone into my body so of course this is all real." I said, caressing myself.
He looked at me in a shocking way. "Oh, sorry if I offended you."
"Whatever, let's just get this night over with so I can beat my girlfriends' asses. They are so going to get it."
I shook my head and continued to drink my wine and eat my food. I made sure not the drink a lot so I can drive myself back home.
The rest of the night was quiet. The only noise were the cars going past and music playing inside the restaurant. The cold wind was blowing my hair and I was ready to go. Ready to go before the date could possibly get any worse.
12:15 AM @ Home
Once I got home, I immediately took a shower so I could get comfortable on my bed. The hot steam woke me up a little bit. Woke me up enough to curse my friends out for setting me up on the worse date of my life.
Me: Hi guys.
Adrianna: Hey Janice! How did the date go? Was it good?
Me: Hell no! He was not my type. He literally offended me and thought that sorry would cut it. You guys made this the worst night of my life.
Victoria: Well, damn. We were worried girl! You told us you were lonely so we tried to hook your desperate ass up!
Me: Well, maybe you could've maybe let me choose my own man, how about that?
Adrianna: Okay girl, we apologized. The night is over. Just because that man didn't fit your type doesn't mean no one else will. Try again next time?
Victoria: Seriously, Adri? Do you think she's going to go on another blind date after tonight? You must be out of your damn mind.
Me: Good night y'all. I have to go to bed. I have work in 6 hours. I'm going to be late talking to y'all.
Adrianna: Good night, boo.
Victoria: Good night, girl.
I rolled my eyes and put my phone up. I'm still not over the fact that they literally put me on the worst date EVER and then is just like 'eh' about it! I got into a comfortable position and eventually drifted to sleep after about 20 minutes of flashbacks of the date.
Maybe I'm better off being alone and a virgin.
