Happy Mother's day! Enjoy the chapter♡
George POV
The next week went through slowly. I was thinking about Ringo and how this plan could actually work. I mean I just met the lad and now I'm asking him to leave everything and join our little band. And even if he does say yes Brian might not agree and let him join. There are many things that could go wrong.
Eventually it was Saturday and it was time to see Ringo again. In spite of all of this drummer stress Ringo is a nice lad. He is the most funniest person I've ever met! He is more laid back than John and Paul and it's really refreshing. Sigh I just hope that soon I can call him my bandmate.
I took the bus to the diner. I always take the bus no matter where I go. I don't care how rich I get or how many cars I have I will always take the bus. It's humbling. The bus driver always wears a smile, you could meet and see so many interesting people, and everyday it's an adventure on the bus. I gonna stop rambling now. I just love the little things like the bus.
I step into the diner and am greeted by so many wonderful smells. There isn't much people here again. It's small but charming. I should bring John and Paul here, I bet they would love it too.
I spot ringo sitting in a booth near the front window. He waves at me and gives me that great big smile. I love that smile. It's much better than that horrible sad smile.
I wave back at him and sit down across from him. "Are y-you having a nice day?"Ringo asks. Why is he being nervous? It's just me, there's nothing to worry about. " My day is going great. What about yours Ringo?".
"Well today is just like any other day I guess." Ringo gives that small sad smile. I hate that. Who hurt him? Who could hurt Ringo? I decide not to ask him about it because it could make him even more upset.I change the subject " What are you going to order?" He smiles at me and laughs. That laugh. It's so joyful and carefree. I think I might love it more than his smile. "Silly George always thinking about food!". Ringo is still giggling at this point. And I'm not complaining.
"Well what can I say food is just wonderful. Oh my god what's your favorite food?" I say getting excited. Man Ringo's right I do love me a good meal.
We spend a little while talking about every kind of food you can think of. I bet the other lads would easily get bored with the conversation. Not Ringo. He's different. After were done eating I'm a little sad. I don't want the day to end. Oh Crap I forgot to ask him to join our band! God George why are you like this?!
"Hey George it's a very pretty day do you want to go to the park?" Ringo asks looking hopeful. This is perfect! Hopefully now I can ask him my important question. The park isn't very far away so we walked. Ringo was right it is a pretty day. While we were walking Ringo found a small rock and started to kick it while walking. I looked at him and he looked very concentrated on kicking the rock. It would be a shame if someone were to-
While he isn't paying attention I quickly kick the rock from under him. "Hey!" Ringo shouts. He looked mad but starts to laugh once he sees my smile. My smile that shows my fangs.
I start to laugh and run away while kicking the rock. Then out of nowhere Ringo steals the rock from me and starts to kick it himself. All the way to the park we play our little rock game. Don't mean to brag but we are pretty great. We could join a sport team together. Maybe some day.
Ringo kicks the rock onto the grass of the park. " I win! I win! I win!" He yells jumping up and down. I giggle at him. He reminds me a young child. I like that.
"Alright you won fair and square." Ringo smiled and asked "So what's my prize?" Ringo looked at me smirking.
"What prize? Ringo we just made up this game. I don't have a prize!". Ringo just kept on smirking "Oh I know my prize!"" Oh what could possibly be your pr-" I say but am inturupted by Ringo hugging me. He is a little short. But it wasn't awkward. I quickly wrapped my arms around him and hugged him back. It felt right.
Ringo let go and ran towards the slides. There he goes again acting like an energetic child. I should find him immature but I dont. I find it charming. Ringo hops onto one of the swings and starts to swing higher and higher. There aren't many people here. Just an elderly couple sitting a bench and a mother and her baby. No kids. That means Ringo and I have the swings to ourselves.
I hop onto the swings and swing back and forth with him. "Hey George i bet if we go any higher we would be outerspace!" Ringo laughs. I soon find myself laughing with him. I've laughed more today with Ringo than I ever had at work. The band could really use a guy like Ringo. He could make even the darkest cloud into a rainbow. Oh shoot the band! I totally forgot again! But he looks so happy on the swings not having a care in the world. Just flying. I'll ask him later.
We swing and talk for a little while. We have another race. This one is to see who could go the highest. I of course won. My prize was Ringo going up to the mother and her baby and asking a naughty question. To my surprise he actually did it! Oh my God it was hilarious. Once Ringo's question left his mouth the mother slapped him right across the face and walked off with her baby!
But Ringo wasn't upset. Actually he was laughing. He does that a lot. Laugh. After that we had another competition to see who could make the other laugh first. Ringo won in a second after making the silliest face. I couldn't help it. He makes me laugh.
His prize was me pushing him on the swings. Sure it was embarrassing. Two grown men on the swings. But it didn't matter because ringo was happy. It's worth it.We spent the whole day at the park. The sun started to go down and the stars were rising. Ringo and I just sat on the swings watching the sky. We weren't talking just sitting and watching the stars. It wasn't awkward it felt comfortable. Just me, him, and the stars. I don't think I've ever watched the stars with anybody. Not my family, John, Paul or anyone. It felt great to enjoy one of my favourite things with someone.
But I'm here for a reason. If I don't ask him now I may never have the courage to ask him again.
"Ringo can I ask you Something important?" I look into his blue eyes.
"Sure George ask me anything" Well here goes nothing.
" Well you know my band The Beatles w-we just recently lost our drummer. And we could really use a lad like you with your talent and personality. A-and y-you really don't need that other band. That Rory guy i-is not very kind to you. And yeah"
God that came out horrible. Why do I have to be so nervous? Oh no what's Ringo gonna say? I need an answer. Finally after an eternity of waiting he gives me my answer.
"No".Haha that was mean. Have a happy mother's day♡
