I slammed the door in his face and began to walk around the block to cool off and think of what just happened.

I opened my eyes to the moonlight and I saw the alarm clock had no numbers on it looking as if it was turned off. I got out of my bed and my legs were still clumsy and asleep, I looked at the wall and saw the alarm clock not plugged into the wall, that's when I saw a man standing in the shadows of my bedroom. I bent down to grab something to protect myself and sighed when all I had was a pillow. A bright light shined in my eyes and in fear I put the pillow up to my face to block the light and try to see who the man was. Looking past the light I saw Eric shining a flashlight in my face and I tossed the pillow at him while yelling "Eric, what are you doing in in my room?!" he fell to the floor laughing saying sarcastically "oh Ben" when he said that I flashbacked to my little sister playing on the floor with her long blond hair spread out around her. Tears welled up in my eyes and began spilling out over my face, my older brother Eric saw me crying and reached a hand up to me saying "Oh come on Ben, just because Liz said that to you all the time doesn't mean you have to cry about it" but I had already run down the long staircase. As I came to the front door I slammed it shut to show Eric I was mad at him.

I heard a faint cough in the distance which took me out of my thoughts, looking up I saw a little girl looking about 10 years old surrounded by the shadows of the broken lamp post leaving only the moon and the stars small light shining upon her. She had long white blond hair covering her face and down to her cold dirty bare feet placed in a puddle. I walked closer wishing I had brought a jacket with me because the cold night breeze came rushing at my face making my eyes water. I kept my arms close to me so I could keep warm as I said in a whisper, "where do you live little girl?" she looked up startled by my voice breaking the silence in this cold spring night. Her face was dirty and her pained tired eyes only opened to a little slit in the night. as my eyes adjusted to the dim light I saw that it was Lizy, without thinking I reached out to her and rapped her in my arms saying, "We all thought you were gone" I let go of her and saw the puzzled look in her eyes and she said, "who are you" hearing those words shot me in the chest and I stepped back to keep my balance. Did the crash give her amnesia? I thought to myself as I studied her weak and puzzled stance. I reached out to take her hand and said, "come, let's get you inside". As I reached the big black fence to our yard, I pinned in the code and the fence opened slowly making the sound of metal being dragged across the ground. 'I'll have to get that fixed' I thought to myself as the gate closed behind us, we walked along the long sidewalk and passed Eric's car surrounded by the light of the moon as if the car was in a spotlight. We passed the rose bushes while climbing the stairs to the door, I opened it and saw Eric getting his coat on when he spotted me he stopped and said, "Oh Ben, I was just about to go and get you" as he was saying this he looked me up and down and I looked down and saw that my shoes were muddy but I also saw Lizzy's feet behind me. "Who is with you, Ben?" Eric said while coming closer to me I stepped aside and when Eric saw Lizzy he stopped and a huge grin came to his face, he has a strange habit of having evil grins, without warning he grabbed her and gave her a huge hug. "Eric!" I said shouting his name, he looked at me in disagreement and let go saying "what do you want Ben?" "She does not remember who we are" he stepped back and in his eyes was the sickest look I have ever seen. "where did you find her?" Eric said in a whisper, "I found her on the side of the road about a block away from the house" he nodded and said, "I'm going to go tell Josh and Kile" he turned around on his heels with a slite smile and walked slowly up the stairs to tell the other boys. I bent down and said, "Lizzy, do you know who you are?" she shook her head making her hair go in front of her eyes. "your name is Elizabeth Stone but we call you Lizzy, you are 13 years old, I'm Ben, and there are three other brothers, Josh is the oldest, Eric, Kyle, me, and you" I said while telling the names of the boys from oldest to youngest. I continued, "you were in a car crash with mom and dad, mom and dad did not make it and you were not found at the crash site and was pronounced missing to the news article" she looked at me confused then she fluttered her eyelids and began to sway like she was going to faint. I picked her up and carried her up the east staircase to her room.

when I reached her room I put all of her weight on one arm and reached down to open the door, "Crap" I said as the door would not open. I walked over to the west side of the second floor and knocked on Eric's door, "Eric where are the keys to Lizy's room?" I heard fumbling in the room and the sound of keys came up to my ears. the door twisted open and Eric was not wearing a shirt as usual showing off his eight pack, he handed me the keys saying, "Bring them back when you're done" I nodded as I took the keys. I twisted the keys in the lock and the door creaked open, the big glass doors were not covered by curtains so the moonlight came into the room lighting it up. I walked over to the big queen size bed and lifted the blanket feeling the soft surface of it comforting my hand, as I laid her down on the bed. She sank into the soft bed and I placed the blanket up to her chin. I grabbed a paper from her dresser and reached down into my pocket for a pen and wrote her a little note for when she wakes up.

I closed the door and walked over to Eric's room and said, "I have the keys" the door opened right away as if he was at the door waiting. He stepped out and stood right in front of me lowering his head to my face making me lean back a little, "Thank you" he said with a smirk as he took the keys out of my trembling hand, he did not take his eyes off of me. He backed up into his room keeping eye contact and shut the door, still trembling from the shock I backed away with the feeling of being watched and I went to bed confused, and this time, I locked my door.
