Chapter 2:Obsoleted

I hugged Vexx tightly as we admired his sword collection all the blades glistened even the digital ones were bursting with color, and gleam. He, turned slowly with a bemusing smile plastered on his face. He took in my appearance more with  amusement than an observation.

"My friend you look a little rough around your oh, so precious edges. What's the story behind this?"

I ignored his question as first not wanting to make this meeting somber, instead of joyous. He gestured for us to sit at his own handmade table that was tuned so well that it sold instantly with the customers. As we sat he gently poured some fancy  unique tea, that you could only find in the black markets for its quality. Still of course maintaining to speak to me so eloquently. His suit clearly made of the finer qualities from the city.

"So how's your business been?" I asked as  he smiled to himself quaintly.

"Its as predicted, very well, I sale to all, if you remember and I don't go by class or the rank of the people in this fair city," He was chuckling as he proclaimed this.

He sighed deeply more to himself, his eyes heavy and thoughtful starring at his exclusive sword collection. Speaking in low tones he looked deeply on. "With the war ending,  among other things. I'm not that man anymore. I've grown, and found a reason, I do not need a blade to know how strong, or important I am anymore to anybody. I've grown out of that part of my life and I'm happy." He  retorted reminiscently sad and sheepishly smiling to himself.

"So now, tell me your story of this terrible appearance, later tonight you must wash and cleanse yourself of this grime  from the workingman." Vexx uttered playfully sipping his tea carefully with a brigthen smile, beaming.

I stared into my tea as the liquid moved around in my cup. "The City abandoned me, so I left. I don't need it anymore, anyways and something strange is happening there, I don't want to alarm anyone. But I think a genocide or extinction is starting to happen." I leaned in closer whispered softly with serious contempt. Vexx listened on, his eyebrows furrowing deeply with a new concern for his livelihood as our eyes met each other in the between.

Soon though he broke out in a devious grin of amusementt. "Vexx I'm not joking I've been traveling from place to place and people are being killed, slaughtered and wiped out from their doorsteps." I fumed taken aback from his nonchalant reaction of laughter.

"My friend, that isn't why I'm laughing, I am laughing because I do not understand why you choose to whisper any of this. If we speak like this it would seem like some conspiracy plot. But it is not." He replied darkly towards me glancing at his half cup of tea.

"We aren't the Neo, we don't record ourselves, and analyze and over-analyze the meaning behind our words. I, and everyone in this place is family, I trust your words with consciousness and concern behind the meaning of them." He sipped his tea one last time and sighed in relief once again a mischievous look appeared on his friendly face as he leaned away relaxing in his chair.

"Now what I don't understand is this, why have you really come here, to deliver this doom, and gloom? He stood staring at me through the reflection from the table.

"I wanted to warn you, I'm worried about everyone, and something else is going on. New modes are being shutdown, obsoleted. I've seen them just simply breakdown collapse and get taken away  more and more robotic repair shops are being sabotaged, destroyed, and burned down in nothing but rumble and ash. This is all a warning. You guys are my family." I looked at his back warily and tired. He stirred his fingers over his suit briefly.

"Are you proposing that someone is trying to "outmode" the humanoids, and all other robotic forms? Also not just that, but kill their existence completely?" He uttered darkly grim faced towards me.

With that chilling clarity, I understood what was really happening  and I even know who was behind all of this, but why if anyone her, it didn't make sense. Where was the logic and sense. She, of all people was the mother, a god of sorts for the humanoid robots. I was so deep in thought I didn't notice, Vexx as he gripped his cup tightly smothering it in his grasp. His knuckles white as a ghost. Till the glass give out in a smash  and broke into a million smithereens in his hand.

As I glanced at his face. He looked haunted, rigid, and frowning fueled with a new kind of rage. I've never personally witnessed I grew more concerned for our well-being on this place called Earth. His bleeding hand curled into an angry fist, as he scowled. Storming off without another word. His beautiful teacup but fragments of what it once was. The liquid like old blood brewing and foretelling  something much more dangerous coming.

"Its kill or be killed" I muttered curtly  finishing my cup and waiting for what I knew was to come. A War, in the Wastelands~
