It was late at night when Mary-Kate left her friends house. She had promised her father that she had to be home by 9 pm and it was already 8:30 pm! She had to hurry or else her father would ground her and that's not a possibility.

Mary-Kate was a good girl. She always did her chores, was a straight A-grade person and always did what her father told her to, complete opposite of her twin sister.

She walked so fast that her legs hurt and looked at the time again. Shoot! She was never gonna make it if she walked this tempo. She came to a stop as the road had become a fork. The left side was the one she had to take to get home, but the right one, though creepier, was faster because it was a shortcut.

Her father had always told her to never take that road. It was dangerous because it went though a part of the forest.

Mary-Kate looked at the time again, 8:45 pm. She would never get home to 9 pm if she didn't take the shortcut. She sighed and quickly walked towards to the right part of the fork.

As she walked it felt like someone was watching her. She pulled her coat closer towards her as the temperature dropped.

Suddenly a twig snapped and Mary-Kate froze instantly. Her breath quickened as she slowly turned around.

A scream filled the quiet forest and it was only after it ended Mary-Kate realised it was her own. A pair of yellow eyes stared right at her and they came closer and closer until they stopped and she could finally see who the eyes belonged to.

There in front of her stood a huge wolf. It growled at her as she took a step back and that's when she saw more wolfs behind the first one.

Another scream left her mouth and she bolted in the opposite direction of the wolfs.

The next morning a body was found deep into the woods by a hiker. It was only because of a charm bracelet with the initials MK that they knew it was Mary-Kate.

Guess she never got home by 9 pm.
