Chapter 15

What happened? Where am I? Hanna opened her eyes and instantly knew that she was back in her 15-year-old body. What is this? Am I dreaming? She looks up to see someone standing right in front of her but couldn’t quite make out who it was. She rubbed her eyes a few times until the person became visible. Andrew! Hanna opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. She feels her throat and tries once more only to fail again. What’s going on here? Why am I back in my 15 year old body? Why’s Andrew here too? Since she wasn’t able to speak, all Hanna could do was stare at him. He too was back in his old body. He stood there giving her one of his dorky smiles. Since she wasn’t able to talk, Hanna tries to run towards Andrew, but no matter how much she ran, she couldn’t get any closer. Seriously?! What the heck is going on here? Andrew?! Hanna runs and runs, but nothing. Frustrated and sad, tears start to flow blurry her vision. In one last attempt, Hanna shouts, “Andrew!” She could speak now. “Andrew. Wait!” Andrew smiles one last time at her before turning and walking away. “Andrew? No, wait. Wait for me.” Hanna sobs and calls, but without so much as a glance back he fades away until he completely disappears. Hanna drops to her knees and starts to cry uncontrollably. “I never even got to say goodbye. Andrew!!”

Her body suddenly jerks waking her up. She was breathing hard and her forehead was covered in sweat. It may have only been a dream, but everything had felt so real especially since her eyes were filled with tears.

Where am I? Hanna looks around in confusion; it didn’t help that she could quite see clearly either.

“Hanna!”

Hearing her name, she turns to see a figure leaning in towards her. She blinked a few time to make out who it was and when Andrew’s face finally came into view, Hanna throws her arms around his neck starts to cry uncontrollably. The dream was still fresh in her mind making her feel like Andrew was still lost to her even though he was right there.

“Hanna. It’s okay. You’re inside and you’re safe now.” Andrew said as he wrapped his arms around her and tighten the hug.

He wanted to see Hanna’s face, but instead he let her have as much time as she needed to settle down. When he felt her body loosen up and her breathing slowed, he pulls Hanna off of him and goes to wipe her tears from her cheeks.

“You okay now?” Andrew wanted eye contact, but Hanna didn’t bother to look up she just nodded. “Hanna? Look at me.” He cups her faceand lifts her head up. “Hmm?”

After a few moments, she finally lifts her face and looks into Andrew’s eyes. He really does have beautiful eyes. “I’m fine.”

“Are you sure? You didn’t seem too fine to me just two seconds ago?”

Hanna reaches up and pulls Andrew’s hands down from her cheeks and holds them. “Yes, I’m sure.”

Andrew searches Hanna’s face and was just about to say something when they heard a knock at the door. Becky’s head slowly pops in and her eyes widen as soon as she sees Hanna.

“She’s awake.” Becky yells back out into the hallway. As soon as she yelled it out, Hanna could hear footsteps and women voices coming down the hallway towards them. She didn’t know why, but she felt chills down her spine and knew that she had better prepare herself.

Soon enough, what seemed like a flock of women, even worse, mothers, came running straight towards Hanna. They were so fast, Andrew didn’t even get to protest against them before he was shoved out of the way. Seeing as how easy they were able to push him away, Hanna was not about to be stupid enough to say or do anything.
