Leo was reading the shop’s catalog ignoring the looks of the female staff and other costumers while you were in the fitting room trying the fifth dress you’ve chosen.
The first one was a yellow strapless and mermaid-like cut. When you showed it to him he totally rejected it saying it was too flashy but in fact he thought it showed too much of your skin and curves and hated the idea of other guys looking at you.
The second one was a white one with a little puffy skirt and a lace on your waist. His mouth hung open for a split second without you noticing it or the slight blush on his cheeks
- What are you? A bride? – he gestured for you to go change again.
You turned back to the fitting room really annoyed.
Also, the third: a blue one and the fourth: light pink, had the same rejection.
- This is the last one! – you announced before going out.
Then something on the magazine he was reading caught his attention, he read it before calling the assistant.
- Do you have this – he pointed at a picture – in L’ size?
- Of course, sir
- And also, about the dress she is going to pick… – he opened his wallet and took out a credit card and gave it to the attendant.
You looked at yourself on the long mirror on the wall; you really liked how the wine-color fabric of the dress made your skin and hair look brighter. Your fair figure got even more stylized because of the Greek-style cleavage. Like any other girl would have done when she finds the perfect dress, you pleasantly smiled before moving the curtain to the side getting out to meet Leo’s eyes that couldn’t hide his surprise as they opened almost twice their size. Even the assistant who was there next to him holding a tuxedo grinned at you.
- It’s like it was made just for you – she said
- Thank you – you smiled back briefly before turning to Leo – How do I look?! – you placed your hands in your waist like trying to strike a pose.
- Perfect…– he softly said looking away trying to hide his embarrassment but still stealing a glimpse from the corner of his eyes.
- I think I should stop looking – you happily said but your smiled faded away when you looked at the price tag. -… or maybe not…
- Should we go home? – Leo suggested shooting a quick glance to the girl holding the tux.
- ok - you nodded and walked back to fitting room with a sad face.
He quickly stood up and took off his jacket to replace it with the upper part of the tuxedo that the girl swiftly handed it to him. It was dark-grey with a classy-vintage touch and for the neck-tie he picked a wine-color one to match the color of your dress. After a few looks on the mirror he took it off and gestured to the girl to pack it together with the dress.
- She is lucky to have such an attentive boyfriend – the girl said taking Leo off guard
- Excuse me? – he replied
- Oh… so you’re not her boyfriend… I’m sorry – she bowed a little embarrassed
- No problem, but I’d like to… - Leo covered his shy smile with his hands
- I don’t think she’ll reject you – she ended the conversation to go do her duties.
Leo stayed there thoughtful but recovered when you left the lifting room, now wearing you school uniform with a slightly sad face because you really wanted to buy that dress but you knew you couldn’t afford it but still, you didn’t complain about it and walked straight to the exit door. Leo nodded to the attendant and she bowed back.
