______I BELIEVE IT ALL started on a casual sunny day at the park. To be quite honest I don't know what I was doing nor why I was there in the first place, but what I'm fully aware of is, I shouldn't have gotten myself too involved. I find it rather interesting how my mind only focused on only one particular child out of a dozen ― a small brunette haired boy sitting on the ground whimpering over his now ruined ice cream. Why didn't I mind my own business? It was beyond me but strangely I felt the urge to aid this sad child.
I approached him carefully, he noticed me when my height shielded him away from the burning sun. I was in awe of his flustered tear stained cheeks, and his big blue bambi eyes. He was a gorgeous child, and I couldn't help but fly to his rescue. Out of instinct I smiled, crouching down to his level. He sniffled trying to wipe away his tears that still continuously fell. "I see you dropped your ice cream there bud."
He shook his head glancing down at it again with a frown on his face and tears gathering in his eyes. "Do you know where your mommy is then?" I spoke softly trying not to make the poor boy any sadder then he already was. "Sh―She was yelling on t―the phone with daddy, but I don't know w―where she is now." He hiccups, and I ruffle through his golden roots and chestnut curls.
"Well how about we get you a new ice cream and then try to find her okay?" I reassured, The young boy's eyes glint with happiness and he smiles, a big wide smile exposing his little dimples and missing front tooth. He takes my hand and we venture off to the ice cream parlor. There, he got his vanilla ice cream with extra sprinkles and gummy bears, we didn't have to find his mother since she found us Instead.
"Oh Israel, where have you been, mommy's been so worried." The young mother sighs in relief, picking up the small boy in her arms wiping away the sprinkles stuck on his sticky cheeks. I watch them interact before she notices me standing shyly in front of her. She raises her eyebrows and for a moment I thought she was going to blame me for the lost of her child, but then her bright blue eyes soften and she gives me a weak smile. "I'm so sorry, I hope he wasn't a bothersome. I was on the phone with my hus―" She clears her throat and then continue, "His father and got a bit carried away that I wasn't paying attention. He must've slipped from my grasp."
"Please don't apologize it happens. I'm just glad he's safe and happy again." I explain, She nods and caresses his gorgeous hair placing him back onto the ground.
"L―Look mommy, she bought me ice cream." Israel shouts nearly making me go deaf. She grabs his hand and kisses his forehead not phased by his high pitch screaming.
"You must be awfully good with children. Izzy's my first child and I'm still far too young, I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed." She giggles, "You seem like you're fit to be a great nanny."
I almost choke searching the woman's face to see if she was being serious or not, but to my pleasure ― she in fact was. "Me a nanny? Oh no no no, I couldn't possibly. I'm still in college and I don't know if someone like me could possibly fill that position."
"Well if you're interested ―" she states, rummaging through her Gucci purse, "Here's my card, call me if you'll like to earn a little money." I nod and she gives me a small goodbye. I simply watch as she takes her son and walks away. Once the mother completely turns her back I contemplate on throwing the card in the nearby trash, but I stop, once I hear that cute little blue eyed boy call out to me "Bye bye pretty lady." As he turned his head over his shoulder to wave at me with the melting ice cream dripping onto his baby fingers.
