The city was vacant and all that could be heard were mine and Dorian's footsteps as we ran. Dorian stopped when we reached an old building, "maybe we could hide here?" He suggested and I quickly shook my head.

" They would find you in a matter of minutes in there. It's a bad idea we need to keep running." I said and grabbed his hand, slightly pulling him along.

Dorian let out a frustrated sign and stopped, "As much as I hate the idea, you need to run on ahead. I'll deal with these people."
"They want you not me, Dorian! If you stop now, you are giving them what they want!" yelled as I tried to pull him to run again, however his hand tightened around mine. "I'm not putting you in harms way, Skylar. I will not let you get hurt because of my stupid choice."

I looked up at the town square clock. 11:50pm.

We have 10 minutes.

"Dorian, trust me. You need to keep running and don't look back till you reach the station. I know how this ends and I'm not going to watch you die again!" I yelled as I pushed him again.

"Sky this doesn't make any sense! All I know is that I love you and I'm not about to stand here and watch you get hurt over me." Dorian stood his ground and his emerald eyes met my brown ones.
A let a small whimper, "Dorian I-"
"There He is!" A man's voice shouted, "Men aim you guns!"

Glanced back at the clock. 11:55pm

5 minutes.

"Dorian run now!" I yelled and this time he listened. And ran and I behind him.

The last thing I heard was the gun shot.

I woke up to the obnoxious I always wake up to, you guessed it the alarm clock.

I honestly want to kill the person who invented the stupid thing, but thank them before doing so because without them I wouldn't be on time for anything.

Besides the point, I was currently preparing for the most challenging thing in the world: the perfect bowl of cereal. Can't have a morning without it!

As I was eating my beautifully made bowl of Captain Crunch, I was going through my mail, that was on the counter. I paused when I read the beautifully decorated one. I let out a sigh as I saw what it was:

You are invited to attended Josie Skyhold and Dorian Black's wedding on May 20, 2018.

I let placed the invitation down and pushed away the negative thoughts of not going to my best friend's wedding.

I don't know why I was upset. I knew it was happening and I already agreed to be Dorian's best man.

I let out a sigh as well a making a mental note of possible trying to to sigh so much anymore. If I said so much I front of Dorian then he'll suspect that something was wrong.

I couldn't do that to him. He was already stressing about the wedding.

I looked at the clock, 10:20am.

I have ten minutes to get to work.

Where has the time gone?
