"Nathaniel! We're back!"

~Nathaniel~

'Fuck those were my parents, okay no biggie I just gotta keep them out of my room, simple right?'

After covering the lower body of my passed out guest with a blanket, my room was finally clean, I left my room and quietly closed the door behind me I walked down the stairs to avoid my parents entering my room with the intent of talking to me.

"Hey what's up Nathan!" Exclaimed my older brother as I walked into the living room. "Oh uhm nothing much... Just living." I might've sounded off when I spoke maybe even a bit awkward but then again that's usually how I always speak so it wasn't like it was weird or anything.

"Where's mom and dad?" I asked. "Oh uh well mom went out back to wash the clothes and dad's back in his room looking over a few things we found on our hike."

"Oh alright so the usual." I responded. Every day is the same old boring days in my house. Most of the money we earn here is from the treasures my dad finds which he later sells or trades at our district market.

My brother began to walk past me heading in the direction of the stairs. "Hey uh Nathan I think I left my journal in your room when I was telling you about me and dad's last quest."

He continued to walk up the stairs as I ran up and tugged on his shirt nearly causing him to fall. "Wait Dan, I uh..." I went silent for a bit looking for the right excuse to tell him,

"I was just cleaning up my room! You shouldn't go in there it's way worse than it usually is at the moment, I'll get you your journal in a sec"

"Wow I'd never thought I'd hear those words coming from your mouth. Nathan cleaning? Insane"

I stuck my tongue out at him then bolted up past him running into my room, closing the door behind me leaving my brother bewildered.

I looked around for the journal unknowing of where it was. I looked over at the man in my bed who now seemed to be more just comfortably sleeping rather than knocked unconscious.

'Oh... Crap. The last place the journal was, was on the bed wasn't it...' I wandered over to the sleeping man glancing over the bed to see if the book were nearby. With just the lower half of the mans body covered, the book was nowhere in sight.

I hesitantly reached for the blanket my face shedding my eyes a bit from the view I'd be forced to stare at in my search. 'You know what maybe I should check under the bed first'

I awkwardly yet quietly laughed to myself at the thought of pulling down the blanket. I got down and looked under the bed and... There it was.

If my face could flush red, it would as I realized what situation I could've been placed in if I hadn't thought of looking here first. I picked up the book and quickly ran back to the door opening it to my brother already standing there with his arms crossed.

"Took you long enough.. Hey wait your rooms already clean!"

"Uhh yeah I just finished while I was looking for your journal ha ha.." I laughed awkwardly.

"Ookay buddy I'll be in my room if you need me"

As he turned around and left I closed the door, letting out a sigh. Looking over to the bed I saw the man sitting up in bed, covering the lower half of his body with a startled expression.

"I-It's not what you think!" I exclaimed.

~Sean~

"W-Who are you... W-What are you!?" I looked up horrified, covering my naked body. The man in front of me, or rather... The thing in front of me..

It looked like a humanoid reptile. The reptile was wearing clothes and everything
It...- he had light brown scales with pale green eyes

I was even more horrified when he opened his mouth. It was almost as if the reptile was trying to speak but it all sounded like weird... gibberish.

Just as that thought came to mind, a bright flash of light came from something lying on the bed. I glanced over at the object squinting.. 'It's the crystal!'

The crystal flashed a blinding light. I looked away and clenched my eyes shut, when I opened them I was in a what seemed like an entirely different world.

Everything was white, there were no walls or a ceiling. I would say even the floor was white but I wasn't sure there even was a floor.

I floated there in this weird world taking in the nothingness, when suddenly a high pitched noise rang through my head. I yelled in pain clenching my head.

Eventually the sound died down, and in place of it I heard a voice. "My apologies," the voice boomed through the empty plane.

"Who are you? Show yourself!" I exclaimed

"I fear I cannot do that, for my physical form is too much for any mortal to bear. One look at what I truly am and all that is you will cease to exist. Who I am does not matter, all that matters is that the crystal you found was a remnant of your past world. As the planet you called earth met it's final hours, a power higher than myself decided to experiment with the  habitants of that world, which would explain why you are here."

I was taken aback by what he said. I couldn't believe any of it, I was left speechless. If I could think of what to say I'd say it then and there yet instead I let the unknown continue to speak.

"That remnant left behind by your past world isn't just an object left to honor your days on the world that was bound to end, but that crystal contains a power much greater than many others. The power in which that crystal contains is the embodiment of mine own power. If you prove yourself worthy of using this power, I will forever aid you in your journey."

And with that, within one blink of the eye, I once again awoke in my new world.

"What the hell was that!" I heard a voice exclaim.

I looked up to see that those words had come out of the reptiles mouth. "Woah you can speak English!? Why hadn't you done so before?"

"What the heck is English, and where did you learn to speak Reptilian, and what the hell was that flash of light!? I have so many questions."

I looked down in thought, 'Did this crystal translate our languages? I could have sworn he was speaking gibberish a second ago...'

"Yeah... tell me about it. Uhh.. could I possibly get some clothes..?" I asked.
