"NO! he's still alive! He..he has to be" you shout rushing up the stairs, you look in each room trying to find your dad when you reach the last room of the house you see your father looking under some boxes left behind by the old owners, "dad" you sigh in relief "what?" your father asks looking confused "your okay..." you say "of course why wouldn't I be?" "good joke, by the way, you made me believe there was actually a monster here" he laughs. You don't understand, you were sure there really was a monster.
"Dad can you pass the garlic bread," asks Julie leaning over the 'table', "sure," he says passing the garlic bread to her, you and your father had just finished unpacking all the boxes in the house while your sister had the easier job of unpacking all her plushies. After we finished, dad ordered us some pizza and here we are now sitting on the floor using some boxes as a table. "So dad, when are the moving guys coming with the rest of our stuff?" you ask stretching your cramped arms, "tomorrow" he answers cutting out another slice, "can I stay home tomorrow?" you ask pleadingly "me too!" exclaims Julie "No, it's your first day of school, you don't want to leave a bad impression" he answers taking a big bite out of his slice. You really don't want to go to school, your more interested in finding that monster and exposing it to your dad.
Later that night you begin getting ready for bed after you getting into your PJ's you walk into the bathroom and grab your toothbrush and squeeze some toothpaste on. As your brushing your teeth you hear a faint thudding noise, you ignore it at first but as it gets louder you begin to get curious about what it is and where it's coming from. You put down your toothbrush and quietly creep out of the bathroom following the sound of the thudding, as you reach the end of the hallway the thudding sounds like it is right above you. In fact, it feels like it's coming from all around you, so you listen even harder trying to pinpoint where the noise is coming from until you realise it isn't coming from the hallway it is coming from Julie's room.
