Lilly POV
As Brad got into the car, I took a deep breath and told myself
Maybe this won't be so bad.
He turned to smile at me and then turned on his car. I turn to look at my dad and he smiled at me waving and when I looked at Rachel, she was basically telling me that if I fucked this up, she would kill me.
"So Lilly, tell me about yourself," he said looking at me but also looking at the road.
Great here comes the awkward first date chat
"Well I'm 17, I'm a senior at Seaford High, I'm a 2nd-degree black belt in karate and I like to sing and dance but my dad doesn't really know about that part," I said as I looked down nervous that he would tell my parents.
"Oh really? I thought your dad had this weird 'no music' rule."
"Well, he does because it reminds him of my mom a lot, but I still practice the piano because it's the only thing I have left of hers and this necklace," I said quietly as my hand went up to my neck to play with the little pendant it has, "I just miss her sometimes.."
Brad POV
When I turn to look at her I can see that, behind the whole bad girl mask, there's a girl who is still mourning the loss of her mother.
Her dad was also trying to move on which is why he married so soon but secretly I can tell that it hurt her a lot more.
"I'm sorry about your lost, I know it must have been hard on you," I said as I parked the car in front of a cafe. I turned off the car and turned to her just for us to connect eyes. " If you ever need someone to talk to, just know that I'm here and yea I know we just met and this is supposed to be a 'date'," I said making the air signs and making her laugh at the same time,
" but we can just be friends before anything like that happens because truth be told I think that would be a lot easier than just jumping into the whole relationship thing."She looked at me with a smile and a glow in her eyes that just looked beautiful. People weren't kidding when they said she was gorgeous. She's the most beautiful girl I have ever met and I would like to get to know her more.
"Come on, let's go inside and get a cup of coffee." He said as I get out and lightly jog over to her side and open the door.
"Why thank you, kind sir." She said in a fake English accent and smiled.
"You're quite welcome, my dear lady," I said playing along with her.
She looked at the name of the cafe and she looked shocked. It was the same musical cafe her mom had taken her too. I got a little help from her maid before the date and when they saw that I was trying to help her, they gave a few pointers.
"I know your dad's rule is no music but I want you to stop looking at the memories of your mom as a bad thing. I hope you don't mind." I said as I put an arm behind my neck nervous that she would hate me.
Lilly's POV
I turn to look at him and I was shocked that he was willing to help me. Maybe this won't be so bad after all...*****************************************
