The Ring

The celestial mage wasn't able to move a muscle in her body. She remained seated at the end of her bed, even after Loke had left. Her eyes didn't shift from the ring on her finger since it was placed there. He wasn't lying... the ring was certainly a pretty sight. The white-gold band swerved in the middle, creating an infinity sign of tiny diamonds. Next to it was a small, but beautiful star, made from the same precious stones. This was a legit engagement ring.

Finally, Lucy shook her head and blinked a few times to wake herself up. She didn't have the patience to shower, but brushed through her hair before changing into a proper outfit; a sleeveless, white shirt with silver lining and a short, black skirt. She fixed her hair up into a side-point tail and over her knee-high socks, pulled on a pair of black boots. Before any more time could be wasted, she ran out the door.

"I shouldn't keep wasting time, I still need more cash for rent next month, plus I'm all out of food." She whined to herself. "It'll just be two or three more jobs before I can take a break..."

A while later upon arriving at the guildhall, Lucy was greeted by Gray and Erza, who were chatting outside, along with Juvia. The water woman gave Lucy her 'love rival' death-stare after she'd said hello to Gray, which wasn't unusual. However, what was odd was the lack of loud noises and yelling coming from inside the guild.

She walked inside to find nearly it empty, except for Mirajane and Kinana of course.

"Hey, where is everyone?" Her tone filled with confusion as she made her way to the bar.

"You just missed Natsu and Happy." The eldest Strauss replied, turning to the blonde. "As for everyone else, they're either out on jobs, or visiting Sabertooth."

"Sabertooth? Why, what's going on there?" Lucy raised an eyebrow. I come in late one day and miss everything...

Mirajane leaned her elbows on the bar and shrugged. "Apparently Sting is throwing a bash for all the dragon slayers and most of the guild is joining them."

"What about Natsu? Didn't you say he just headed out?"

"He said he had something to take care of. I'm not really sure, to be honest..." Mira frowned, followed by Lucy.

"Dang it. I guess I could always go with Gray or Erza-" she was cut off by the door slamming into her face.

"We're back!!" Suddenly shouted the pink-haired dragon slayer, as he walked casually inside. "Hey, that's weird..." he sniffed around, "I thought I smelled Lucy?"

"Down here." The celestial mage whimpered in pain, lying on the ground behind him. She sat herself up and glared at her partner. "Give a warning next time before you bust a door open, would you?"

"Maybe you should give a warning before you stand in front of a door!" He pouted, trying to avoid the blame for her pain.

Lucy only rolled her eyes. "Where were you guys?"

"Looking for you! Where have you been all day?!" He crossed his arms, slightly irked.

"I'll have you know, it wasn't my fault!" She crossed her own arms in defense. "Loke had me up late and—" oops. She stopped herself from continuing that sentence.

"Loke?" Everyone in the room questioned in their heads, except for Natsu, who spoke out loud.

"Oooh, were you too getting cuddly in the bed last night?" Happy's eyes squinted at her as a grin rushed to his face. Lucy smacked it right off.

"Shut it, cat!" She'd flung the blue exceed onto the ground. Her face began to glow pink, but thankfully, the only one who could see it had no idea what it meant; Natsu was clueless.

Mirajane and Kinana shared a glance before the bartender giggled, "I always thought Loke had a special thing for you, Lucy, but I never thought not you'd fall for him."

"I haven't!" She denied desperately. "We weren't doing... anything like that...!"

The she-devil came from behind the bar and joined the small group near the front door. "Oh please, the look on your face says-" she stopped and blinked. Her eyes were glued on Lucy's hand.

Just then, Erza and Juvia had walked through the door. As soon as Natsu spotted Gray from outside, he bolted after him, screaming inaudible words. It wasn't long before you could hear crashing from out the door, which Erza had gladly closed to block out the noise.

"What's with the look, Mira?" The scarlet woman put a serious look on her face, shifting her eyes to where Mira's attention was fixed. Suddenly, Erza went pale. "YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED?! Who is it?! Why haven't you told us?!" She began to shake Lucy's shoulders violently.

Juvia stood quietly in the background, sulking angrily. Lucy... is getting married... before me and my beloved?

"Quit it and let me explain!" Lucy squealed, causing Erza to loosen her grip and nod.

The four girls went outside while Kinana stayed in, watching over the guildhall. It took Lucy a moment to breathe before she could begin explaining her complicated situation. She wasn't afraid of being judged, more so afraid of word spreading. Despite so, she let out a sigh and started talking.

"Basically, Loke proposed to me at the Grand Magic Games and apparently he was serious... so we made a deal that if he-"

"Wait!" Juvia's eyes sparkled, interrupting Lucy. "Does that mean that Gray and I are really engaged, too?!"

Every one of the girls then hushed Juvia, causing her to pout and growl. As interesting as Juvia's fantasies were, frankly, they only cared about what was really happening with Lucy at the moment.

Lucy slightly glared, then cleared her throat, "we made a deal that if he can prove he loves me, I'll... marry him." She mumbled the last part, embarrassed to admit she'd agreed to this bet.

Everyone awed, even Juvia.

"That's so sweet, Lucy!" Mirajane giggled, imagining the two of them having a child and what it would look like.

"The ring is absolutely stunning!" Juvia gasped.

"It truly is." Erza agreed. She was brought to tears, sobbing on the ground. "My deepest congratulations, Lucy. I had no idea you were ready for this stage of life yet! Where are you going to live? Have you figured out all the details and dates? Have the two of you... done the forbidden action?"

Lucy's face was practically burning, "WAAAH! No way!" She shook her arms around, as if she could shake off the embarrassment. "I don't even know if it's happening yet!"

Next thing she knew, Lucy was being bombarded with questions; some of her feelings, most more like assumptions and a few very personal, inappropriate ones. Of course, she had expected this excited, dramatic reaction from them, she was just disappointed Levy wasn't there.
