        Four Hours Later....

"Guys they havn't even hit my name yet... they aren't even half way done", I said to Daniel and Lucy who looked like they were napping on each side of me. "Skylar Laney" , I hear my name be called throughout the room. My heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. Why was I so nervous? They were just going to give me the charm. It wasn't like I was going to find who I was meant to be with yet. I walked to the front and out of wooden double doors that made a loud banging sound when they closed.

I walked into a room I have never been in before. The walls were pure white and there was a chair in the middle of it. It looked like a patients' room at a hospital. A really attractive guy in a lab coat came up to me. I wish he was the one I was meant to be with. Too bad he had a ring on his left hand... looks like he already found his someone. "I'm going to draw blood and compare it to the DNA from when you were born. I want to make sure nothing has changed. It is very unlikely but we always want to be safe." The needle was injected into my arm and blood was taken out. I'm not scared of needles, but i'm definetly not a big fan of them. The doctor man looked at me oddly like it was unlikely for me to cry. "what?" I questioned as he put my blood into this machine.

"Nothing. You just don't seem like the type of girl to cry over some little needle." I didn't reply. I was too focused on who my future mate was going to be. "Looks like your DNA is still the same. So your charm hasn't changed." He brought me a blue box that had the words "Are you ready to find your true love?" Written on the top.

He presented the box to me and I snatched it from his hands as fast as I could. I opened the box and an oddly shaped charm was on the inside. Someone has a charm that looks exactly like mine on them. The colors blue, red, and yellow were mixed into the charm so beautifully. I took the chain my father had given to me and put the charm on it. I asked the doctor to put it around my neck. "This charm fits you well. Good luck on your journey!", He said as I walked out the door with a smile on my face. I was so ready to find my true love.

I waited in the school lobby for Lucy and Daniel to finally get their charms. Lucy and I compared ours but Daniel wouldn't let us see his. "I just don't want to find my true love until later in life. If it ends up being one of you two, I just don't want to know yet." In my mind, I figured he just wanted to keep having the attention from girls he was getting. We walked out of the school and ventured towards an old diner down the street. It was a big highschoolar hangout after school got out. It was still pretty cold out considering we were just getting out of winter, but the heat of excitement kept us warm.

We walked into the diner and our larger group of friends met up with us. "Let us see your charm!" All the girls said to Daniel, but he kept it hidden. My mind kept wondering to another place regardless of the excitement at the diner. I'm not the one to think of love much, but today has been so much different. "Where is he now? Does he have a girlfriend regardless of the charm? Is he thinking about me?" All these questions filled my mind. I was prepared for the journey I was about to begin, or so I thought.
