I woke up in the nurse's office.

What the hell is going on?

I frantically sit up from the clinic bed and look around.

No one is here waiting for me to awake.

Was I in a coma??

I reach into my bra, in search for my phone, but it's nowhere to be found.

Finally, after what seems like hours, Nurse Jones walks in gleaming. What is she smiling about? I could've died!! Her blonde hair is tied in a perfect bun in the center of the back of her head. Her blue eyes are piercing through mine,

"You're finally awake." she says.

"Yes... Am I okay?" I question in concern.

She is amused by my question, "Of course. You fainted and perhaps, because of lack of sleep, you napped for over 6 hours."

"Willow carried you here. Your sister came along but left shortly to make it on time to her class" She adds.

Willow? Wait, what?

"He waited a long time for you to wake up but couldn't stay any longer because the school day was over. That's our policy." She grins.

Why on Earth would he wait for me? Wait! Damien! Our Anniversary! I missed it!

I act on impulse and get up quickly.

Too quickly.

My head starts to pound and my mind goes to mush.

"What.. What time is it?" I stutter, recovering from my action.

"Roughly 7pm."

Oh my God! I need to call Damien, I need my phone!

"Where's my phone? Does my Dad know? Where's Ivy?! She has my car!!!" My thoughts all come out at once.

I need answers, lady.

"Relax, Emory. Your phone is in the office bin, with the rest of your belongings. Yes, your dad is aware and I suggest you call someone to pick you up because the law states I can only keep you here till 8pm."

Ugh. I run over to the bin and check my phone.

7:20pm.

No new messages?!

I call Ivy and after 3 rings she picks up,

"Em?"

"Don't you have Caller ID?!" I snap.

She disregards my comment and asks, "Are you alright?"

"I need a ride home." I say softly. I hate asking her for favors.

"I left you the car. I also put the keys in your bag, so don't worry." I hear the smile in her voice and smile back.

"Wait, how did you get home then?"

"I got a ride. Don't worry about it. I'll see you at home."

I hang up, grab my belongings and thank Nurse Jones before exiting the school.

The lot is empty.

Completely empty.

Except for my car, of course.

I take the keys out of my bag and unlock my car to start driving.

However, my mind goes elsewhere...

Is Ivy lying, or is Mom actually alive?

It can't be true.

I saw her body.
