Andrea's POV"I'm pretty sure it's a left here."
"Yeah, no. All signs clearly point to us staying right."
"We could try going straight?" Sarah offered.
"Not now, kid. Adults are talking." Deacon cut in.
"Hey! Don't talk to my kid that way. Come here Sarah, you're apart of this argument too." I ushered Sarah to my side.
"Technically, being seventeen doesn't really count as being an adult." Brian stated all matter of factly.
"Brian," I called, crouching down to his level as a placed a hand on his shoulder, "No one likes a smart ass."
"What does ass mean?" Brian turned to Deacon. Deacon sent daggers my way.
"It's another word for a donkey." He replied.
That was actually a pretty solid save on his part.
The sun was starting to set around us, and we hadn't found a single thing on the list. This whole hike had consisted of me and Deacon arguing like our life depended on it. In some instances, I was probably arguing just to argue with him.
Deacon lit a different kind of flame from under me. One that had me dead center stuck between ripping his fucking head off or kissing him senseless.
"We should probably be heading back soon." Deacon spoke, interrupting my thoughts. It had grown considerably darker... but I wasn't a quitter.
"Go ahead and bring the kids back. I'm going to try and recover at least one item before calling it quits." I replied. He looked hesitant for a moment, but finally decided that would be alright.
"You've got the walkies Incase you need to reach out for any reason. Don't stay out too late or the trails will get harder to find." Deacon explained. I gave him a nod, ensuring him I'll be fine.
"Go kick some ass, Andy!" Sarah encouraged. I gave her a large smile.
"Why would she want to go kick donkeys?" I heard Brian ask Deacon. He looked stumped with that one.

"The small waterfall should have been back this way... right?" I whispered to myself. I looked down at the map to see the waterfall, but when I looked back up, all I saw was a big ass rock in a leveled out plain. There wasn't even a pond here.
Well fuck me sideways, I thought to myself.
I was officially lost.
