"Welcome Mr. Harmic, please take a seat." Dr. Fredrick Brown said happily with his hand extended out.
"Please just call me Donnie." Donald replied with a firm handshake. He walked over to take a seat amongst the circle of other individuals. Four women and three other men. There were two open seats remaining, one for Dr. Brown and one for himself. He looked around. The room had a heavy feeling to it, the fan buzzed and the lights flickered, the fireplace was crackling but outside not a sound was made. It might have been somewhat cozy if it weren't for all the people staring at him. Their gazes gave him an awful feeling in his gut but he took it as anxiety. Dr. Brown walked over and took the last seat, it was in between Donald and a middle-aged woman. She was dead on staring at Donald as if she was looking right through him. She had short black hair, she was caucasian and on the plump side. She was about five foot six from what it looked like. She just seemed to be studying him.
"Thank you for joining us Donald, I er mean Donnie. We're happy to get to meet you." Dr. Brown said, to break the horrid silence.
"Glad to be here." Donald said.
One woman raised her hand. "Yes, Shila what is it?" Dr. Brown asked.
"Well um.. Can we just call you Don? If not its ok, I was just wondering." She asked nervously.
"Yes, you may." Don replied.
Shila smiled and looked down nervously. Don looked over to Dr. Brown for some idea as of what to do next. Sweat was trickling down his neck his nerves were shot. He wasn't sure what was going on, or what to do. For some reason, something felt off when he looked at these people.
"Well everyone this is Don, Don this is everyone. There is no need to feel afraid here. Our therapy group is here to help one another feel better after a tragic event or events. You all know who I am, Dr. Fredrick Brown." He glanced over at Don for a brief moment. "Don, would you please tell everyone a little about yourself and explain why you are here with us today."
Sweat started to form on his hands and forehead as all eyes were on him. He tried to calm himself and held his hands together. "Hello everyone, I'm Donald but you may all call me Don. I'm twenty-seven years old and just moved here from Leavenworth." he paused and looked around the room, his heart felt like it was pounding. "I'm here today because of an unfortunate incident. about a month ago my fiance, who I was about to marry that upcoming weekend, was killed."
"Thank you for sharing Donald, but that's about all the time we have for today. Please do come back next week, and try to get to know everyone." Dr. Brown said as he cut off Don.
