I couldn't take my eyes off him. The idiot. The bastard. The boy who sent me into the panic attack that landed me into the hospital to begin with.
"Naruto, I don't think you should be here..." Kakashi whispered softly to the other ninja, and Naruto scoffed.
"I can be here if I want! So, Sasuke, how's your heart doing? Not too many cracks in it, are there?" Naruto smirked at me, and I was almost ready to get up and slap him myself.
"Naruto, quit it! Sasuke didn't choose you as his soulmate, you know." A familiar pink haired girl stepped out from behind Naruto, kicking him in the shin as she went.
"Ow! Sakuraaaa! What the hell!" Naruto reached up to rub his head which had just been assaulted. He frowned, the pinkette giving him look of disgust. I could just see her pride going Fuck ya! You tell him!
"Well, I guess there's no need for lessons now..." Kakashi obviously didn't mean for anyone to hear it, and the other two were too busy arguing to hear him.
"Hey, Sasu-Chan, are you ever going to say anything? Or do you just not want to talk to me because I'm not a faggot like you?" Naruto was ready for Sakura's punch this time, side stepping so her fist flew to hit thin air.
"Naruto Uzumaki, I demand you quit it this instant." Kakashi didn't seem to have much of an effect on the ball of sunshine, Naruto laughing darkly.
I couldn't do anything. I couldn't talk or move. All I could do was watch and listen.
Kakashi frowned, looking over to me before sighing softly. "Naruto, you know your dad's soulmate wasn't your mother, correct?" This got Naruto's attention, and both him and Sakura froze.
"What? Quit joking. They were soulmates." Naruto brushed it off, letting out a nervous laugh. "Right? They had to have been. I wouldn't be here otherwise."
"You know people who aren't soulmates can have kids together, right?" Kakashi's sarcasm kicked in, and I could almost see him facepalm.
"They can!?"
"Indeed. Your mom's soulmate was your dad, but Minato's wasn't your mother."
I had heard this story. It was something about... I couldn't quite remember. From what I heard he had fallen in love with another woman. But Kakashi wouldn't bring it up otherwise.
"Your dad's soulmate was a guy, you know. They were actually best friends. And were two birds in love until your mother came along. Shall I go on?"
"That's it!" I exclaimed. All eyes in the room turned to me, eyebrows raised and faces concerned.
"I knew I've heard this story. It was him and his teammate, right? And if I remember correctly, that teammate was an Uchiha."
Kakashi looked pleased, nodding. "Correct, Sasuke. They were soulmates. Both accepted the fact openly. And they weren't afraid to show that they were in love. Dates every Sunday, 'Sleepovers' they wouldn't tell anyone about," Naruto gagged. "And they never went anywhere without each other. Hell, at one point I think I saw them wearing matching rings."
Naruto's eyes were wide, blue pools either horrified or intrigued. "My dad was gay?"
"Bisexual, actually. He found love in your mother, and had been cheating on his best friend. Well, long story short, Minato tried to cut the string. Your mother's was already attached to him, so if he could just cut his and the other male's, he'd be home free."
With a small gasp, I remembered Sakura was still in the room, her breath sucked in softly. She knew she was soulmates with Ino. And despite the two being rivals, they had never even DREAMED of cutting their string.
"Did he do it?" Kakashi looked back to me, nodding softly. "He did. And poor Yamiyo went into a panic attack worse than Sasuke's even. He... didn't want to do anything without Minato. So he did one last thing and then he didn't."
"And that last thing waaaas...?" Naruto cocked an eyebrow, obviously not too concerned with the story. His arms were crossed, and he was still leaning against the doorpost while Sakura took the chair.
"He killed himself." Kakashi glared Naruto dead in the eyes as he said this.
Now this had an effect on the boy. He looked over to me, then back to our Sensei. "P-People do that because their soulmates reject them?"
"Every day. If you have no one to love you like only a soulmate could, what would life feel like? No love? Sounds like that's something you should know a lot about, Naruto. You've never gotten any sort of love. And with your rejection, now Sasuke won't either."
That was my breaking point. "I'm not some helpless child! If Naruto doesn't want to fucking love me, then so be it! I can cut the fucking string if he wants me to that badly!" Kakashi stood up, and Naruto laughed.
"You won't do it. You're too desperate." His voice was mocking, and it simply made my blood boil until I was sure there was steam spewing out of my ears.
"Watch me," I growled out. Kakashi pounced, but it had already been done. With a grab at the little red string on my pinky, I pulled hard.
Snap.

Yey, chapter three ^^
I'm actually surprised. I've managed to get a whole 19 reads and 1 vote (As of when I'm writing this) on my story~!
I mean compared to my rp book that has like 600 reads, this is pretty goddamn amazing.
Because this is legit the highest number of reads on a STORY that I've ever gotten XD
Anyways, Author-Kun would really enjoy if you left a vote, a comment maybe? And if you wanna be super awesome, share the book with your friends~
Next chapter should be out soon, but I'm also helping out @ravio_trashbag with their book so it may be out a little later than usual.
But don't fear! It'll be out before you know it.
