Caged

Day 24 continued

I smiled a little," mind showing me around?". "Yeah sure", she said taking over and wheeling me towards the exit. "What do ya want to see first?" , she asked once out the doors. "Hmm...i wanna see that wolf again". "you sure?", she asked hesitantly. I nodded and she rolled me down the hall,  took two lefts when we stood in front of a huge dome. "The subjects get to be out today", she mused. I looked into the large dome seeing several animals most of which looked in bad condition -they were probably just the new arrivals- 'i thought. A small macaw shrieked at me it barely had a prosthetic leg on. I pressed my hand to the glass to look at the light blue tipped macaw. He was a species i hadn't seen before double crested with two sets of wings. "Oh my-", i said looking at the marvelous bird when it shrieked again and flew off. A cat materialized seemingly out of thin air its back burned bright with fire. "Oh god!", wanted to help the poor feline it didn't seem to mind and as soon as it appeared it was gone. "What in the hell was that", i asked looking around for the cat. "I call her pyro", a mans voice said making me jump. A brown haired man stood to the left of us he was tall and slim framed ,"Jack, Jack Hemswick", he said sleepily holding out a hand to shake. I shook it politely. "Well if it isn't jack i haven't seen you in a couple months", konor said punching him lightly on the shoulder. He chuckled, "i've been busy.". I turned my attention back to the dome looking down to the ground i saw the same grey wolf though it looked different. It looked up to me and stretched out a pair of huge feathery wings. I gasped though the two catching up didn't turn their heads. It had a sort of muzzle on plum in color with two disk like things on the side it was hard to make out from the height. I pressed my hand once more to the window.
And the strangest thing happened it curled one leg beneath itself and bowed. Tears pricked my eyes as i saw the lines where the wings attached with stitching.
