_____________________You know, it's funny
The way the world works.
It has a sick sense of humor
It finds amusement in the suffering of others
It gives you a sense of hope
Then it smashes it in your face.
Everything I've known
Everything I've cared about
Everything I've hoped for
Gone. In an instant.
That is life, it is ruthless
It is cold and bitter
It destroys every dream I've had
I have a different name for life however;
It's name? I call it 'Father'There was a moment in time, a magical moment where love prospers, from that love, was born a small baby boy.
"Congratulations Mrs.Choi, it's a boy!" A tired and overly stressed nurse in blue scrubs handed a small, quiet, little baby bundled in blue hat and blanket.
The woman who just gave birth smiled, sweat rolled down, and her chest rose and fell heavily as she held her newborn. A tired and love filled smile formed on her plump lips. She lovingly caressed the infants soft cheeks, "Welcome to the world, Namjoon."
A man stood to the side, he stared at the infant, his eyes filled with wonder and awe. The woman looked over to her lover, her smile never faltered. "Come meet your son," she whispered. The man gulped, his sweaty hands shook as he slowly reached for the child. "He's so tiny," he whispered, the infant filled him with a certain warmth. "Hi, Namjoon... I'm your.... Appa," the man grinned.
The infant subconsciously sent him a smile and snuggled closer.
Things seemed bright for the little family, but of course, life deems it unacceptable that people be so happy. The door burst open, and men flooded the room. The sudden noise caused the infant to burst into wails and cries. "Don't move," a man pointed his rifle towards the man. "W-What's going on?!" the woman asked. Footsteps clanked against the tiles, a man with gray hair entered. "Appa.." The woman exhaled, fear courses through her vains. The tall and intimidating man looked at his daughter, then to the young man. "Appa what-" a look was sent to the woman. "Am I not allowed to see my grandson?" his deep and commanding voice echoed.
The man, knowing that he was no match, handed his son to his father-in-law. The old man looked down and grinned, "Hello my little heir, with the help of you, your mom will marry Jong hyuk." the woman felt her heart sink "Appa!-" "Enough, I taught you to not speak." the old man turned to the young man. The young man looked at him, his face red with anger. "He is my son." the old man nodded towards him, and a gun was shoves to the side of his head. "Seong- Appa!-" with a raise of his hand, his daughter closed her mouth. Tears pricked at her eyes as she looked at the love of her life. "My little flower, how it saddens your Appa that you've disobeyed him." the old man sighed "How did you find us?" she hissed. He huffed, an attempt of laughter, "Did you believe that I wouldn't find you?" he asked.
He carefully rocked the crying infant in his arms. In any other circumstance, he would be seen as a loving grandfather. "Since I love you, my little flower, and since you've birthed an heir, I will let your pathetic lover boy live. Of course, under one condition, you marry Kim Jong Hyuk." The woman weakly wiped her tears away, "I told you, to keep my family out of your stupid gang affairs!" The old man look towards one of his men, that held a baseball bat, and nodded. The man walked over to the womans lover, and swung at his torso. With an agony filled cry, he fell to his knees.
The doctor and nurses stood to the side, arms raised, unable to help in anyway. The woman cried as she watched her lover get beaten. "Alright! I agree!" she sobbed. The young man wheezed as he lay on the floor. "That's my little flower," the old man beamed. He handed the infant to a nurse, who clutched into Namjoon with her life. The old mans feet tapped against the tile towards the young man in pain. The old man crouched down as best he could, "You're not entirely useless, so I'm giving you the gift of life and freedom. Don't be a fool, and if I find you again, I won't hesitate to blow your brains out." The young man panted looking up at the old man. "M-M.... M-My s-son.... I-Is n-n-not y-your.. P.. Puppet." he huffed out.
The old man stood and looked at his men. "Get this rat out of here." The men nodded and picked up the beaten man and dragged him out. The woman screamed and cried, watching the love of her life be taken away. "He doesn't deserve you, little flower. I promise you, once we get Jong Hyuk the proper treatments to allow him to have children, you will make beautiful smart babies together." The old man cooed and pet his daughters hair. The woman sobbed, her heart broke in half.
That seemed to be the only time I ever saw my true father. I don't remember what he looks like, but he brought my mother joy. As the years passed, the life and fire in her that once roared, simmered and died down. If you see her now, you see empty eyes, and a fake smile. That is .. If she was alive... My story, although broken and filled with pain, is one I cannot hide. I tell this story, the story of how I became the leader of BTS.. Of how I was broken and hurt. My story haunts me day to day. This is the story, of Kim Namjoon.
