Jonas looked around at his surroundings within the memory. The air feels cold and bleak. Jonas saw the drops of water, rain, dripping down from the sky. He felt them dripping down to his body and everything around him. A male was kneeling on the wet ground he noticed, facing towards a stone carved with words on them, seemingly ignoring the rain and his damp clothes. Gravestone, his mind supplied. He was standing next to the male, seemingly comforting him. His hand involuntarily moved to stroked the male on the shoulder in comfort. He felt a strong feeling of sadness overwhelmed him, the cold air around him intensifying it. He knew that there was a word for this feeling, yet he could not perceive it. When he heard the distant sounds of sobbing, he finally perceived the word. Grief, he thought. Just at the moment, he was abruptly taken back to reality with the Giver sitting next to him.
