13 "Baby Boy"

Drea

After Travis kissed me things got heated but I stopped it before I did something I was going to really regret. But today I'm telling Dre my final decision on moving.

"Hello?" Dre said answering the phone.

"Hey, where you at?"

"The house, why wassup?"

"Come over I got some news."

"Good or bad?"

"Just come over boy!" I said hanging up.

A couple of minutes later I heard a knock on the door and it was Dre.

"Hey baby, sit down." We sat down on my bed.

"Wassup, what's the news?"

"Well, I got accepted into some colleges."

"That's good babe, what colleges did you get accepted to?"

"Georgia State, Emory, Scad, Spelman, and Savannah State." I said getting nervous by the minute.

"Well which one you going to?"

"Spelman."

Dre

I know damn well Drea ain't just tell me she going to a college in Atlanta, I'm happy for her and all but I don't want her to go.

"Man what the fuck?!" I reacted without thinking.

"Please don't be mad at me." She said on the verge of tears.

"I'm not I just-I just I gotta go." I said leaving before she could respond, fuck my life.

Drea

Damn I fucked up bad, he looked like he wanted to cry I just laid back and let the hot tears stream down the sides of my face.

Bri

"Well it looks like your having a baby boy!" The doctor announced to us. I'm so excited to be having a little boy.

"Aww!" My momma cooed. Me and her finally back on good terms after a damn near 2 hour talk.

"Now imma have a lil man running round." Keem said getting excited.

I just started crying tears of joy, I'm so happy everything is coming together for me and Keem, just looking back at my life, I grew up fast as fuck but I'm still proud of myself for finishing high school with honors and not giving up.

But momma was disappointed when we told her because she said me at a young age but she got over it. We left out the hospital and went to iHop to get some breakfast.

"Hold up y'all let me step outside real quick." I said excusing myself from the table because my phone started to ring.

"Alright." They responded.

"Hello." I answered the phone.

"Hey mommy to be!" Drea said sniffling I could tell she had been crying.

"Do I need to beat Dre ass again?! Why you crying?" She just broke down crying on the phone.

"Drea? Drea? Drea?" She wasn't answering. Then the call ended.

I walked back in iHop.

"Ma do you think you can give Keem a ride back home I need to go check on Toot." That's what my mom calls Drea.

"Sure."

I pulled into Drea driveway and knocked on her door, she opened the door and her eyes were puffy and red, she looked like she lost a family member.

"What's wrong Toot?" I said sitting down with her and hugging her.

"Everything, I'm moving to Atlanta and Dre is mad at me." She said liking distraught.

I was speechless, hurt, and sad as fuck I just cried.

"See I don't wanna make people sad or mad, I feel horrible." She said while pulling the covers over her head.

"I'm really happy for you I just don't want you to leave, but what college are you going to?" I said wiping my tears and putting my feelings to the side so I can be there for my friend.

"Spelman."

"Well since we're sharing news, your having a boy!" She looked confused for a minute then she caught on and smiled.

"Aww, I promise I'll be down here for the arrival of my baby boy!" I laughed, I swear I love my sister.
