Chapter 3 - It's A Bad News

(Cale's P.O.V)

It's already dark when I reached the pack house. The bloodstains on my skin dried up, just like this mud that's covering me. I probably look too dirty. Hilarious. Disgusting. I don't even want to show myself anymore, especially to Alpha Steven and his Luna. I don't want them to see what kind of failure I am.. I'm such a disappointment.

I hurried to the main entrance and was about to get inside when out of the blue, I stood face to face with Tina. Thank goddess. "What the?!!" she said, with mixed expressions painted on her face. "What happen?" she asked continuously as she keep on checking every part of my figure. She's looking at my fresh wounds.. she doesn't know it was all caused by Levi and I feel bad that I never told her about it. Tina is such an overprotective girl and I'm thankful for having her as a best friend. She always cared for me and was there when I needed her.. she's like an elder sister to me, but I lied to her evrytime she asked me with pressuring questions. I never told her how Levi and her brother Draven picked on me all these years.

"Tina, it's nothing okay..." I said, trying to sound like I was good. "I'm fine, really." I added. She looked at me with curiosity in her eyes. I know she wouldn't believe me but I gotta work on it. She sighed in defeat, finally. I just want to avoid this kind of situation. "Alright then.. well, hurry up and clean yourself, something's going on at the pack's dining room. It's not that Important, but I guess the Alpha and Luna want you there, they were looking for you since this afternoon."

I tried to process what she have said, staring at her as if it was a very shocking news that got me blank. "Don't worry.. I'll be there," She promised as she left with a reassuring smile. I made my way upstairs straight to my room. I washed myself and dressed up, making sure I'm fully cleaned before leaving.

I never wasted any of my time. I immediately went down in the dining area, standing infront of the wooden door. There were noises coming out, I bet there's a lot of People inside. Important People. At first, I was hesitant to turn the knob, but I got no choice. Everyone kept their eyes on me like I was some kind of unusual thing that just appeared in front of them. "Alpha.." I said almost in a whisper, with my head hanged low. I looked up.. and a pair of gray eyes met mine. I know.. he hates my presence. He doesn't want me here, and I know he hates it that I'm still existing.

"Have your seat Cale.." Alpha Steven said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I could feel him still eying me and it made me feel uncomfortable as I brought myself to join them. I keep my head down, staring at the empty plate in front of me as if it was the most interesting kind of thing to see.

"May I ask you Cale, what happen? You have so many wounds on your arms." His sentence almost made me hide myself under the table. How come I forgot about it? I tried to check my fresh cuts and bruises from the corner of my eye. They were swollen, and reddish hue was apparently surrounding each of them.

"Uhm.. I j-just.. I was in the forest, then I-I slipped so I fell down the.. the slope. I got lost, Alpha.." I lied. he looked at me with worry in his eyes, I hope he'll buy it. On the leftmost seat across the table, I could feel Levi burning stares on me. He's going to kill me if I spill everything so I needed to make up bunch of lies to everyone.

"Cale, are you sure dear?? your face is also swollen, it seems like somebody hit you terribly!" Luna Mary argued, but there's nothing else I can say. I gotta make up another lie to protect myself from Levi. "It's nothing Luna.. I'm alright." I assured, forcing a smile on my face to make them believe. Meanwhile, I took a glimpse of Levi sighing in relief. He then saw me and he clenched his jaw. I swear I heard him growl ,like he would finish me in just one look.
