(February, year 3)
After the past meet, Hedge couldn't go back to the wraiths. Not now. Honestly... not ever. She didn't fit. They saw things differently, the red star and herself. Expressed things differently. She needed emotional support. There just wasn't enough of that with the wraiths. With Jameson maybe... but they didn't talk about that kind of thing much. And Jameson was prone to... bouts of idiocy. She likes him, she really does. She just needs people that listen to her for now. All of her wraith friends seem to love getting into trouble. Maggie though... and Salt? She didn't have to worry about them getting themselves killed whenever she turned her back. They listened to her. Trusted her. They could take care of themselves and be supportive and it was just nice. Really nice. She was delighted to join them at the caves. The Lascarians and lascarian-adjacent share her dislike of the day star and the caves were so wonderfully dark. She felt comfortable letting her guard down. That hasn't been the case for a long time. She could feel it with certain people maybe, but not locations. This was a much needed change. She had a lot to sort out, and here seemed the place to do that.
