Yazzy and I made our way to the office when one of the office aids began to ask us questions such as "what do we need" and "why did we just walk in unannounced". Before I could say a word, Yazzy snapped back almost instantly.

"If we wanted to say something to you..we would've , but we didn't.. anyways , we need a schedule to see where our classes are , you got it?"
I was surprised to hear the attitude in her tone, she was a real savage! Anyways, the office lady rolled her eyes and said " whatever, what's your last name" I gave her mine, as Yazzy did hers.. and after a few awkward moments of dead silence as we were waiting for our schedules to print, we were on our way.

As the day progressed, so did we. I began to tell her
my interests and pet peeves, and she told me about her family. I know it seemed too soon to give out information regarding my life, but I didn't know any better. I was just taking into consideration the fact that I'm not used to having friends, so I thought that maybe letting another person know about me, would grow us closer. It turns out she wanted to be a cheerleader just like me. We were discussing tryouts and competition season.

Yazzy was a freshman as well, except she wasn't as lost as I was in this big ass school. She had a boyfriend, upperclassman, who had previously showed her around. I haven't seen him personally, but from what she told me he was a real gangbanger.. I find that so attractive.

"Girl, you might need to tell him to slide one of his friends my way" i said.

"Shit I would but they're all in jail!"

"That don't bother me" I said jokingly , "I'll put money on his books real quick"

Ever since i first started dating, i had a feel for the no-good thugs! Something about their i dont care attitudes turned me on.

We giggled for a while, then she told me to reach into her backpack and put on her extra pair of shoes. Yazzy is a basketball player, so she always came prepared with gym shorts and shoes to match. We began to compare schedules and coincidently, we had almost all of the same classes.

The bell starting to ding obnoxiously, letting us know that it was time to go to class. Following Yazzy , we were on our way to first period.

As we walking into the class, I observed all the graffiti on the walls. The class room looked like it could have been built a million years ago. The walls were an off-white color with tan paint peelings rolling off of it. The floor was made up of tile, but there was cracks and chipped wood everywhere.

Standing outside of the class door was an older, rounded women. She had a huge nose with a wide face, but she was grinning enormously.
"Hello" , "good morning , "welcome".. she was greeting everyone at the door. I flashed a fake smile at her, and I sat down in the far back.

There were people of different ethnicities, social standards, and backgrounds...but overall, I didn't belong. We had the crips, bloods, the dummies, pottheads, and then there was me and Yazzy ... the misfits.

The teacher began to rumble on about her life and what not, but you could tell that nobody was really paying any attention to her. After a long hour of meet and greets, school was over. Thankfully i already made a friend and the worst part was completed.
