a/n this will be a little different, kinda hamilton inspired, based on the songs satisfied and my shot mainly

Jin stood at the counter, cooking supper. Namjoon wasn't answering his phone; he'd been busy all day. With a sigh, Jin looked over to the photos on the mantle. The couple had been together since they were young, but dating for a long time didn't make relationships any simpler.

Even back then, Namjoon was ambitious as hell. He knew what he wanted in life, and was going to do whatever he needed to get it. That's how it was with asking Jin out. Both had been dating other girls, but their attraction was strong. They had been in similar situations, with parents wanting them to marry a specific rich girl. Although Jin knew he wouldn't be satisfied with that life, he was willing to go through with it to make his family happen. However, Namjoon was different. He wasn't satisfied, in fact, he had never been satisfied. Anything that stood in the way of Namjoon's satisfaction was a problem. So, he convinced Jin to be rebellious and do what he wanted. The two eloped and left their families to make a life for themselves.

Jin smiled, thinking of those early days with Namjoon. He stirred the soup he made every Wednesday night. This began as a tradition when Namjoon first began to get restless. After eloping, the two worked in food service and retail. Both loved music, so they would perform in clubs and bars on the weekends. Namjoon wasn't placated by this though, he wanted more. All their friends would talk about how talented the couple was, the singer and the rapper. Namjoon worked his ass off, writing and producing and performing and doing anything he could. He soaked up knowledge like a sponge, writing raps complex and deep. Talent knew no bounds with Namjoon.

Grabbing two bowls, Jin poured the soup and waited at the table for Namjoon to arrive. And arrive he did, bursting through the door, arms flailing and yelling incoherently. Jin stood straight up and rushed to catch Namjoon as he tripped over the carpet. He looked at Namjoon in confusion. "Wha-" he was cut off with a flurry of messy, excited kisses.

"We got auditions! We're gonna do it! We're gonna make it, Jinnie," Namjoon yelled, grinning at Jin and showing his deep dimples.

Jin smiled, his previous annoyance all gone. "Joon, slow down, sit down, and explain."

The pair sat at the table, eating their meal as Namjoon explained all the details about the upcoming auditions to join a new boy-group. "They said they're looking for people who can rap or sing or dance or be a visual, and we're perfect for it! We have to take this shot Jin, we can't throw it away."

Jin thought for a moment. "Okay. When are auditions?" For the first time that night, Namjoon's energy died. "Well...the thing is.." Jin raised an eyebrow warningly. "the auditions are tomorrow."

"Yah, you can't expect me to just audition with no notice. I haven't had anytime to prepare." Namjoon walked over and grabbed Jin's hand.

"You're talented enough, even without preparation. I know you can do it. Please do it, for me? Please, Jinnie, we can't throw an opportunity like this away."

A frown settling on Jin's face. "But what's next? What if we don't make it? What if we are split? What if we do make it? What if you aren't satisfied, still? What if you meet someone else famous and cooler and more talented than me?"

Namjoon rested his free hand on Jin's cheek. "Jin, you've got it all wrong. I am satisfied. I've never been more satisfied with my life. I love you, and you're the only one for me. I just want you to have the best."

Silence filled the room as Jin thought, while Namjoon played with his red hair. "Alright. I'll go."
