Don't hold me up now
I can stand my own ground
I don't need your help now
You will let me down, down, down

I sighed as I motioned one book to come towards me. Why am I going to dress up for a party? I don't do parties, they're pointless. I waved my hand and had another book fly towards me. The book opened to reveal a picture of this yellow stone. I didn't even had the chance to read it when I heard a knock on my door. I set the book down before making my way towards it.

I had it open halfway to see Tony in one of his really expensive suites. "Ready?" He asked.

I slid between the cracks before shutting my door. "Like I have a choice." I opened my hand. "Azarath. Metrion. Zinthos."

The small symbol appeared on the door. The bright red light flashed before it slowly disappeared. I didn't look at Tony before walking towards the elevator.

"What was that? What did you do?" He asked. Then he motioned towards my usual outfit with my hood up. "And what did I say about dressing up?"

"I don't dress up," I stated. "And that was a little spell for any intruders who want to go in my room."

"It's not going to blow them up, right?"

"No." Tony looked relieved. "It's just going to send them to another dimension without a way of returning."

He raised his eyebrow at me. "Really?" I gave him a blank look as the elevator door opens. A little smile formed on my face before walking out. "You can't be serious?"

I wasn't serious. It's a cloaking spell. So if anyone decides to barge in, then they'll see a regular room.

The party was at full swing. People left and right dressed in the nicest attire as they drank the night away. I sighed before going towards the end of the bar. I sat down and snapped my fingers. Another book appearing in my hand. The one time I wish Pepper as here, so she could at least keep me company. She's at least half decent.

"Hello," I heard someone next to me.

I didn't remove my gaze from the book. "Go away."

"That's one interesting looking book you're reading."

I inwardly groaned before setting my book down. I looked up to see this muscular guy with a tight blue button up shirt. Nice eyes though.

"Captain," I greeted boredly.

He looked confused. "I'm sorry. Have we met before?"

"No, but I've read your file. Captain America aka Steve Rogers. First super soldier who ended up getting frozen in time. I could say more, but I don't have all night."

"Ok, you know something about me. Maybe I should know something about you. Make it fair and all."

I rolled my eyes. "Fine. I'm Raven."

"Wait, you're Tony's friend?"

"Friend isn't the word I'd use, but, sure, let's go with that."

Steve placed his hand out. "Well, it's great to finally meet you."

I shook his hand. "Likewise."

Ok, so Steve isn't that bad. Unlike Tony, he offered to introduce me to everyone else on the team. I really didn't have that much to say because I didn't really want to get to know them. I get that they're trying to be polite, but just because I live with Tony doesn't mean they should interact with me. But if I'm around them at least I don't have to deal with everyone else. We gathered around the couch, Clint twirling a drumstick as they talked about Thor's hammer.

"But it's a trick," Clint started.

Thor chuckled. "No, no, it's much more than that."

"Whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power. Whatever, man! It's a trick." Yeah, these guys are clearly drunk off their asses.

Thor motioned towards his hammer. "Please, be my guest."

Clint looked like a kid when they get excited about getting their parents permission to do something. I didn't look away from the book because I know what's going to happen. He's going to try, but the hammer won't lift. But I do need some entertainment in my life, so maybe I'll watch.

"Clint, you've had a tough week. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up," Tony joked, making the team laugh. Except me.

Clint looked at Thor. "You know I've seen this before, right?" Thor nodded as he motioned Clint to go ahead. Clint wrapped his hand around the handle and tried to pull up, but he didn't even move the hammer by an inch. "I still don't know how you do it!"

Tony nodded at him. "Smell the silent judgment?" Then he elbowed me in the am I right kind of way. I didn't say anything.

Now Clint motioned to Tony. "Please, Stark, by all means."

This should be good. "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." I raised my eyebrow at him. "Not a word, Rae Rae." Then he wrapped his hands around the handle. "It's physics." Physics, my ass. "Right, so, if I lift it, I - I then rule Asgard?"

Thor nodded. "Yes, of course."

Tony tightened his hold. "I will be reinstituting prima nocta." He only tugged once and nothing. "I'll be right back."

I leaned back in my seat as he brought out one of his atomic arms. He grabbed the handle again before pulling up, but nothing happened. He kept trying and trying until he grabbed his friend, I think his hero name is War Machine. They both tried, but neither could lift the hammer.

"Are you even pulling?" The guy asked.

Tony snapped his head towards him. "Are you on my team?" I smirked at their fail attempt. Tony noticed and glared. "Oh, ok, Little Miss Demon, how about you try?"

I shook my head. "Nope. Why am I going to try to lift something that only Thor can?" Thor pointed towards me with a smile. At least I know not to make a fool of myself.

Then Banner tried. He grunted and started making this weird noise before he lets go and 'roars' at us. Everyone else tried to hold in their laugh, but I just shook my head in embarrassment. Then Steve got up to try and lift the mighty hammer. He rolled up his sleeves before grasping the handle. He pulled up and I could have sworn the hammer moved. Maybe I was imagining it.

Banner motioned to Natasha. "And, Widow?"

She shook her head. "I'm with Raven on this one. That's not a question I need answered."

I gestured to her. "Finally, someone who understands. If Thor's the only worthy one who can lift the hammer, then why are you all embarrassing your sorry asses."

That Shield Agent, Hill, I think, pointed at me while looking at Steve. "Steve, she said a bad language word," she joked.

Steve sighed in annoyance. "Did you tell everyone about that?" He asked Tony.

Tony rolled his eyes. "The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code. Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints is, I think, the literal translation."

Thor got up. "Yes. It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." He picked up the hammer and flipped it, catching it with one hand. Show off. "Your demon friend is right. You're all not worthy."
