Chapter 6

Brad's pov

I laid in bed thinking about Marilyn, maybe I should just hide those feelings let anyone date her. I didn't want to ruin our friendship, I mean she's been my Bestfriend since diapers. My phone rings and I look to see who it would be since it's 2am. It was Mari.

"Hey sorry to wake you up."

"Don't stress it, I was already up."

"Oh "

"So What's got you calling so late?"

"I can't sleep without my Bestfriend.. "

"What did you do while you were gone?"

"I held a picture of us.... "

"I'm on my way " and with that I told my dad I was going to Marilyn's and walked down to the next block then climbed up to her room's window and crawled in.

I laid next to her and I couldn't help but wrap my arms around her.

Marilyn's pov

I called Brad over to my house because I wanted to be in his arms not because I couldn't sleep. I loved Brad but I couldn't tell him that. It would tear us apart. I couldn't imagine my life knowing he wouldn't be there for me...

A few hours later Brad started mumbling in his sleep. I couldn't help but giggle at him. He was saying all kinds of things talking bout dogs and cats. He always found a way to make me smile even without trying and that's what I loved about him.

I knew our kiss was something but I had to act like it was nothing.

This morning is the first day of school. I didn't know What to wear or how everyone might act, but I know that with Brad by my side it won't be so bad. I woke him up and told him to pick out my outfit for today. When he came out of my closet he had a Yellow sundress that came just above the knees and my cowgirl boots. I put it on.

"You look beautiful Mari " he said not looking up to my eyes but scanning my whole body.

"Thanks Brad you look Good too." He was wearing a blue button down Polo with shorts and Sperry's. I have to admit he was making me melt.

I did my make up and braided my long hair in a fishtail braid. I was now ready.

I went downstairs with Brad. We both grabbed a nutri-grain cereal bar and walked to our trucks. We both drive because We like to show off our babies.

When We got to school everyone was already staring because of the sound of my truck. I jumped down from my jacked up truck and started walking to the office so I could get my schedule, books and locker when these football players started hitting on me.

"Hey there beautiful!" said Chad

"Someone is looking hot today" said Kyle

"As much as I would love to continue this I have to get my things but y'all are more than welcome to eat lunch with me" I said. I'd always been a sucker for Chad and Kyle.

I grabbed a salad from the Zacby's booth at lunch. One thing I loved about this school is We had more options than What the school provided. I heard Chad and Kyle whistling for me and saw that Brad was already over there so I decided I would just sit with them. All day guys have given me their numbers and girls have tried to act like We were best friends, maybe Star High has a new "it" girl...

I sat down in between Chad and Kyle and across from Brad. Brad has been giving this look to Chad and Kyle since I've sat down. Chad put his hand on my waist and Brad looks like he's gonna loose his shit.

"So Mari any lucky guys in your life??"

"No "

"Then would you mind me taking you on a date to the mud run Friday night? We could enter our trucks if ya wanna. " Chad just knew I couldn't resist mud runs.

"Ehh I'll have to see....Okay sure What time??"

"5:30"

"I'll be ready!"

Brad's pov

I do not like the fact that Chad is taking Marilyn to the mud run but I can't tell her she can't go. I just hope she stands her ground if he pushes her into something she may regret.
