The silver light of the moon's reflection glistens in the calm river water. A slight breeze sends leaves into the river, where they float like little lillypads. The odd fish jumps out if the water, before taking a nose diving back in, creating a small splash in the process.
A silent silhouette of a young girl slides into the scene, fusing with the darkness of the shadows. They watch the moon's rays of light bounce off the water, revealing her pale skin and blue eyes. But only for a fraction of a second. She jumps into the trees, disappearing as silently as she came.
Shouts can be heard from the distance. Breaking the calmness of nature. The fish no longer willing to jump out if the water. The wind blows the leaves away and a dark grey cloud slides over the moon.
Two Jounin ninja race from tree to tree. Both holding annoyed expressions as their eyes dart around. They run in silence until the male ninja of the two, named Oron speaks up, "where could they have gone? No one can just vanish like that!"
The other ninja, a female named Laiya speaks up, using a frustrated tone towards her partner Oron.
"How am I suppose to know? Why don't you stop asking me ridiculous questions and just keep searching?" She sighs and wonders to herself, 'who could be at a ninja level, high enough to just vanish into thin air?'
The sun slowly rises, creating an artwork of soft colours being painted in the sky.
The two jounin are beginning to tire in their search and both are starting to wonder that maybe the rogue ninja they've been chasing all night is gone.
Oron leans in close and whispers into Laiya's ear, "found them" she turns her head to him, not quite believing what he just told her.
"Where?" She looks around puzzled because she can't see anything out of the ordinary.
He gives her a sigh and points in front, a little to the left. Where sure enough, there's a stream of jet black hair fluttering in the wind, only just visible in the dim light of dawn.
Laiya smiles to herself, "come on!" She darts ahead in pursuit of the rogue ninja. Oron follows her actions and darts also.
All three of the ninja are moving at an incredible speed, the scenery around them whizzing past, as each continue to play their own roles in this game of catch.
The rogue ninja becomes annoyed at how persistent village ninja can be.
"Damn leaf ninjas." She mutters to herself whilst she jumps down from the trees and comes to a stop in the middle of an open clearing.
The two Jounin follow, Oron landing in front of the rogue and Laiya at the back.
They both become shocked as they get their first glance at the rogue they were chasing all night.
" H..how is this possible?" Oron asks no one in particular, " you're only a 12 year old genin!"The girl lifts her head and glares are him with her bright blue eyes. A low growl fills the air. Oron and Laiya look around confused and curious as to where it's coming from.
"I am past genin level!" The growling stops as the girl argues in her defence "And I'm not 12, I'm actually 11." She gets ready for an attack, taunting the two ninja who were pursuing her. Her facial expression changing from a frown to a smirk. Her actions cause the two Jounin to go into their fight poses.
Oron sighs to himself, not really up for a 2V1 with the odds against a kid. But considering the way she's acting, she obviously wants a fight.
That means she could be a threat to Konoha. After catching his breath, he notices how close they are to the village. He wonders to himself if the girl in front of him was heading for the village with a purpose. If she was then he might need to capture her and take her to the Hokage, see what he'll decide to do with her. In the real world even kids can pose a threat.
