A/N : Just another Thank you for reading! I'm having so much fun writing this. (Oh and I was totally listening to Chainsaw by Nick Jonas while writing this!)
Chris absentmindedly poured another cup of coffee. He had barely slept all night. After running into Hunter he went home hoping that Belle would call him when she woke. It was now 10 am and he hadn't heard from her. He was a wreck knowing she was hurting so badly and he wanted nothing more than to go to her and comfort her, but he wasn't even sure she wanted to see him. Allie had texted him last night to say she was at Belle's house, but he hadn't heard anything after that.
Trying not to pace the floors of his home he switched on the tv desperate for something to take his mind off his current relationship status. Relief flooded through him when he heard the doorbell ring. It had to be Belle.
Chris swung open the door eagerly and exhaled when he saw Belle standing at his front door.
"Oh my gosh, Thank God." He reached out for her to pull her into his arms, but she stiffened up. "Belle...." He swallowed.
"Don't make this harder than it has to be." Her voice was cracking as she began to speak.
"Make what harder...." Chris furrowed his brow.
"I'm not good for you." She wouldn't make eye contact with him, she stared at the ground.
"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Don't say you're not good for me."
"Maybe you're not good for me." She whispered.
Chris felt like his heart was shattering. "Babe...don't say that." He reached out and cupped her face with his hand.
She turned her cheek into his hand as the tears silently slid down her cheek. She reached up taking his hand in her shaky one she kissed his palm before letting it go.
"I'm a mess." She continued barely above a whisper. "I can't do this long distance. I can't....It hurts."
"We won't do long distance then. I'll stay here. I won't go."
"You have to go. I can't ask you to not have your career. And you have commitments. I won't be the one who takes you from that."
"None of it means anything without you by my side." Chris knew he was losing the fight.
"You don't mean that." She smiled sadly. "We've only been together a little while. You'll remember what it was like before me in no time."
"I'll never remember what it was like before you. I don't want to remember. I don't want to let you go."
"You have to. I don't have anything to offer you." The tears continued to fall.
"You have everything to offer me. You that's all I want. Every day forever. Don't leave me." Chris's voice was strained as his heart pounded inside his chest.
"I love you." She whispered and then she was gone just as quick as she had come.
"Please....Belle." Chris fought the lump in his throat pushing out the words but she didn't hear them she was gone.

2 weeks later Chris was in strictly work mode. He hadn't talked to Belle since the day she broke his heart on his door step. He was still in Los Angeles but was working pretty much 24/7. When he wasn't working he was with Jack or working out. He didn't go back to the gym instead had Matt meet him at his house and they did their workouts outside. Matt was the only person Chris attempted to talk to and even then, it was just about his workout regimen.
Belle to, was in a fierce work mode. She worked every single game and was at the office 8-5 Monday- Friday. The days the Dodgers were on the road she was working out, either at Dodger Stadium or running with Killen. She had started seeing her therapist again and was back on antidepressants. She had gotten rid of all alcohol in her home finally taking responsibility for it. Allie was so happy to see that her friend was on a good healthy track, but she knew Belle was still hurting. She missed Chris severely. She wouldn't talk about it to Allie and Allie only hoped that Belle was talking to her therapist.
Chris walked into his condo, it was so empty without Belle. Although they had never lived together they might as well have. Everything in his place reminded him of Belle. Nights were the hardest. Coming into his dark quiet house, no Belle, no Killen. He couldn't even call her. He wanted to fight for her and he had tried to call her for 3 days straight. And just when Chris thought he couldn't hurt any more than he already did she blocked his number.
Clicking the tv on he plopped down on the couch running his hand along the corner where he could clearly picture Belle laying in her favorite spot, her legs stretched out over his. Closing his eyes he forced the memory of her laugh to surface and saw her smile in his mind.
He didn't know that he'd ever get over her. He didn't want to get over her. He needed her. He wanted her. Knowing that she didn't feel the same way was killing him.

Belle sat down to catch her breath on a bench in the park after a quick run with Killen. Smiling at her dog she scratched behind his ear. Out of the blue the memory of the first time she had met Jack flashed in her head. Looking around she realized this was the bench she and Chris had sat at. Tears immediately sprung to her eyes and she quickly wiped them away. Every day was a struggle. Every day she missed him more and more instead of less and less. Her heart felt like it was in a million pieces. And not using alcohol to escape was difficult on top of feeling like her heart would never be the same without Chris. She thought she was doing the right thing. Protecting herself from Chris as well as Chris from her. But never did she think it would hurt this bad.
