Lilith's POV

--------------------------

"Get in the car." Alex says.

"You have a car." I ask. It's unusual for a sixteen year old to have a car, and it's definitely not usually as expensive as the one I'm standing in front of.

"I turned 16 a month ago. Got my license the day of my birthday." He says while starting the ignition. The car roars to life, The goes into making a smoother sound.

"It's a nice car." I say softly. Alex nods his head while buckling his seat belt in. He waits a while just sitting there looking at me.

"You getting in or not." He asks softly. I jump in awkwardly, hitting my head on the ceiling of the car and my foot against the door. My clumsiness always find a way to appear at the worst moment.

"Are you okay?" Alex asks me once I'm sitting in the car with my seat belt on.

He couldn't have asked me that while I was in the floor dying?

"Yeah totally. It not like I just fell in the floor after hitting multiple parts of my body that are in crucial pain and demanding attention right now," I rant before putting my hand on my forehead, "Ow."

"Well don't you know how to rant." Alex asks me while backing up. I immediately pick up on how focused he is. It makes me feel like I'm distracting him.

"Only when it's needed." I whisper. I look out the window and into the dark woods. The glass is kind of like a mirror, so every time Alex turns his head to look at me I see it.

Alex's POV

——————

She's quiet now. Hasn't said a word since we started driving. Every once in awhile I would glance at her, trying to think of something to say. I blame my awkwardness for the silence.

It may be dark, but I can still see Lilith pretty clearly. Her eyes are looking all over the place, like she can't find something to focus on. She chews on her nails while doing it too. I find it kind of cute.

Is it weird that I'm analyzing her like this? It can't be right? I don't usually talk to people but I do watch them, learn about them through their actions. It makes it easier for me to know who to trust or not.

Should I even be thinking this hard? No, you're driving. I remind myself. I think too much anyway.

"Where's Lucinda?" Lilith asks. I look over at her, with the dull lighting make her eyes look black. "I mean I would ask her myself, but my phones not working." She tries to turn her phone on again. "I think it dead."

"I have a charger in the back, see if it fits." She climbs into the back, grabbing the charger and plugging it in.

"Thanks." She says. It gets awkward again, her just sitting there looking out the window and me being too awkward to not make it awkward.

Does that even make sense?

"What's it like." Lilith suddenly blurts out.

"What's what like?" I ask, turning left and pulling into the parking lot.

"Being a vampire." Lilith says like it's the most obvious thing. I make a face, then realize that she's not from here.

"Nothing really." I say getting out the car. Lilith follows, shutting the door quietly before tripping her way to me. "Other supernaturals are use to us like we're use to them."

"Oh... okay."She says grabbing a basket. "So there are more of you supernaturals?" She hands the basket to me.

"Yeah, there's Werewolves, Witches, Fairies, Genies..." I watch her grab some vegetables from the shelf, "practically any supernatural you can think of."

"So this is practically where all the fairy tales stem from." She asks, reaching up for an item that's to hard for her to reach. I grab it for her.

"I mean everything has to start somewhere." I say. I look at her, realizing how short she actually is, and how she has to look up to me to look me in the eyes. "What's all this food for."

"I'm gonna cook something." She says, "and maybe a grab a few things for snacks."

"Is it gonna be good?" I ask. It's something different. When your a halfblood vampire, like me, it really doesn't matter if you eat or not. As long as you drink blood your body stabilizes itself. Eating just helps wains off the thirst for blood.

"I hope, or I'm gonna be hungry for the rest of the night." She jokes. She looks in the basket then up at me, smiling. "I think that's everything."

"Sweet, lets go before curfew sets in."

Lilith's POV

——————

When we go back to Alex's place and unload the car, joking as we walk in.

"Dude! What the fuck!" Some guy yells when Alex and I walk into the room. "I'm late for work Alex." He says.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were gone for that long." He says to sing the guy his keys.

"Where did you go?" He asks. Alex opened his mouth to say something, but the dude interrupts him, "you know what I don't care I'm already late."

"Okay?" Alex says as he watches him run to the door.

"Hey don't fuck in my room okay." He says, looking at me the Alex. Alex shakes his head looking at the ground, muttering this is why I have no friends over under his breath. I make a face.

"We won't." he yells at him when he shuts the door. "Idiot."

"Who was he?" I ask, pulling out the groceries and putting them in the fridge.

"My brother, Eric." He rolls his eyes.

"No offense, but he seems like a douche." I say. Alex shrugs his shoulders, not looking to offended that I called his brother a douchebag.

"He can be at times." He says. His phone starts to ring. He look down at the caller ID. "Hello?... now?... I mean we have a guest... you want to meet her?... just come over. It not like you can't... oh your coming now?"

The doorbell rings. Alex ends the call getting up and answering the door. "You really need to time your visits better."

"Oh shut up and show me the new girl." She says. Alex laughs and turns to me.

"Lilith, this is Addelin, my older sister."
