Hi,Rei here I recently started a Japanese notebook and this is what I have.
Learning Latin really helped me learn English which essentially helping me with Japanese grammar.

koto (こと)can mean something like you are able to do (something)
Or I am able to (play piano)

私の日本語ひどい,でも私が頑張ります!
(Watashi no nihongo hidoi, demo watashi wa ganbarimasu!)
My Japanese is terrible,but I will do my best

"Watashi no"私の can mean "my"
"Watashi mo" 私も can mean "my" too
-Wa(わ)(は) is a particle often meaning is. Wa(わ) is used as a topic marker and must be pronounced wa
こんにちは(konnichiwa) it's spelled with ha (は) but pronounced as wa(わ)

-ga(が) can be used to to mark the subject

-ka (か)is a question particle
-mo(も) is used in agreement like "I like vegetables too) "やさいもすきです"
-ni(に) can be used to indicate time or location

ーdesu (です) is like the verb "to be" in English or "I am and you are"
-Japanese doesn't use verbs to express person like "I" "you" "their"

-deshita (でした) is the past-tense form of desu
"歌ことがすきでした"
"I liked to sing"
(Uta koto ga suki deshita)

-yo (よ)particle and be used to tell new information like
"このへんに本屋がありますか?"
(Kono hen ni honya ga arimasu ka?)
is there a bookstore near by?         "ええ、そこにありますよ。
(Ee,soko ni arimasu yo)
"Yes,it is"
Can be also used as a command
"怒らないでよ!"
(Okoranaide yo!)
"don't get so angry!"

-ne(ね) can be used the same for a nicer tone
"怒らないね"
"Don't get angry,ok?
(Okoranaide ne.)

-yo(よ) and ne (ね) can be used together to ask for confirmation
あなたわこっちの道ですよね      (Anata wa kocchi no michi desu yo ne)
