3 Years Later
Kerry's P.O.V
Breath in, breath out. My hands started to shake as Ginger helped me do the buttons on my back. I had been picturing this day for since I could remember. I may not be getting married to prince charming but it definitely feels that way. I stood in front of the big mirror and stared myself up and down. A tear slipped past my closed eyes just as the door opened. "You ready?" Dad came in, fully suited and booted. I nodded as he gave me one last kiss on the head and hugged me tightly. I straightened out the top of my dress, tightened the trainers on my feet, made sure all hairs were in place then linked arms with him.
The music started playing softly as we approached the start of the isle. Everyone stood up and every inch of my body started to shake... This was it, this is the day I marry the love of my life. I looked up through my vale and could faintly see Nairne and Breanna standing to the left of everyone. Rye and the rest of the guys were stood to the right of Mikey. As the music slowly quieted down, we reached the end of the isle. Blair pressed a light kiss on my cheek and let go of my arm. My eyes met with Mikeys and my heart started to thump in my chest as I took a hold of his hand. He stood in front of me in an all black suit, I never would have thought I'd see the day I married my best friend.
The minister started to talk but I couldn't hear him. All I was thinking about was the man in front of me. Mikey gave my hands a squeeze then let go, he reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper. I started to grin ear to ear as he started to recite his wedding vows. "I, Mikey Cobban, promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love. I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving. I promise to try me on time. But most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you. I love you."
I let out a little giggle at the sarky comment he managed to fit in there then grabbed the crumpled up piece of paper from Nairne. I gave her a look she knew all to well because of the state the paper was in the started to read, "I, Kerry Dreelan, promise to always love and protect you. You have been my best friend, mentor, and my greatest challenge. But most importantly, you are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could ever imagine and more loved than I ever thought possible. You have made me a better person, as our love for one another is reflected in the way I live my life. So I am truly blessed to be a part of your life, which as of today becomes our life together."
We both let a couple tears slip down our cheeks and I looked up to see Jack whipping away a stray tear. I took a glance into the crowd and started to smile as Harvey blew a kiss to me, his arm slung around Kayla, who had somehow come back into our lives but for a good reason. The minister said a few more words then said the most important ones, "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." He didn't have to say it twice , Mikey grabbed both cheeks and pulled me close. Our lips pressed against each others and it felt just like our first kiss all over again. All our family and friends stood up and started to cheer and clap. We both pulled away and looked out at the crowd, I couldn't help but turn bright red.
*2 Hours Later* (At the reception)
It had been a couple hours since the actual wedding and now we were all gathered in a little dance floor/bar in a hotel. I had swapped my bridal whites for another white dress which is a lot more simpler and easier to move around in. My hair was curled lightly and I had barely any makeup on because I knew Mikey hates it when I wear to much. I was standing at the bar trying to order a bottle of water when Nairne and Breanna came up behind me and gave me a massive hug while the guys jumped onto Mikey. I had the cheesed grin on my face and looked at dad before Sean and Sammi came running over to me. I basically had to look up at them cause they had all of a sudden taken a massive growth spurt and I was tiny. They both gave me a hug and congratulated me before heading for the sweets table.
I turned to speak to Nairne when someone standing in the door caught my eye. Even in the dim light, I could make out the curly hair and cheesy grin. I excused myself from the little group and ran over to Jack. He engulfed me in a massive hug and I almost started to cry all over again. Nairne's mum had signed RoadTrip again so the Why Don't We boys became good friends. A lot of things had happened in the past 3 years. Way more than anyone really expected. Mikey and I weren't the first wedded either, Blair and Ginger finally tied the knot but sadly happened while Mikey and I were on a break. I needed a date so asked Jack which is why we are so close now. I pulled away from the hug and the other 4 boys appeared. I gave them all a hug and they congratulated me then left, leaving me and Jack standing alone.
"You look beautiful night" Jack spoke, I feel my cheeks heat up and thank him quietly. We talk for a further 10 minutes then I was asked to join Mikey on the dance floor for our first dance. I slid my arms around his neck as he held a comforting grip on my lower back, pulling me closer. I had no idea what song we were dancing to but started to smile slightly as 18 by One Direction started to play. It holds a lot of meaning because I met Mikey when I was 18, he asked me out on the 18th June, he proposed on the 18th December and we shared our first proper kiss while this was playing. It's not a normal song to dance to at a wedding but we loved it and that's all that matters. We both swapped our arms around, so his were round my shoulders and I lay my head on his chest. Mikey placed a kiss on my forehead as the song slowly came to an end. Everyone started to cheer, Mikey took hold of my chin between his thumb and forefinger and leaned down into a kiss. It was full of passion and emotion and it's almost as if we melted into one person.
We did the daddy/daughter dance then opened the dance floor to everyone. I decided to be a slight slob and went into the changing room, swapping my second white dress for a red lace halter neck top and a pair of black jeans. Dresses weren't really my thing. Ginger tried to bully me into wearing heels for the day but I decided against it and wore a pair of white converse down the isle. The party lasted until 1:00am but everyone eventually left. We helped clean up a couple things then me and Mikey were forced to leave because it was our wedding day and we shouldn't have to do anything. We were two of the last people to leave so there wasn't very much traffic at all. We wondered over to the car and before I could get in, Mikey pressed me up against it. He stared down at me and took in all my features almost as if he hadn't seen them before. He slipped a hand into my hair on the back of my neck and pulled me into a kiss, I linked my fingers into his belt loops on his black jeans and pulled him ever so slightly closer. The kiss became slightly more heated but we were made to pull apart as a car horn went off. We both turned to see Blair smirking as he pulled away from us and out the driveway. I kissed Mikey on the lips again and mumbled a soft 'I love you'. He didn't say anything but placed a quick kiss on my head which I knew was him saying it back. We both climbed into the car and headed home, big smiles on our faces and fingers intertwined.
If I were to put the past 5 years into two words, it would be - 'Extraordinarily Incredible'
The End
