Blake

Every townsperson not inside the building came and surrounded me. Some were crying and begging to know if their child was still alive while others were trying to lift the fallen bullet filled corpses out of the way.

No matter who that person was, everyone was staring at me. They saw my bleeding leg and wondered what had happened for me to be like this. I couldn't take it. I covered my head with my arms to shield myself from the outside world. I never liked attention and this is just overkill.

One of the nearby trees rustled. A few people gasped as who or whatever it was wasn't hurt even though they fell from a fifty foot tree and landed on their feet.

A cold hand touched my bloody wound. I nearly jerked away from the feel of the hand. The touch went away and was replaced by the soft, cotton feel of fresh, clean bandages.

"It's okay now," A deep male voice made me curiously lift my head to see who was talking to me.

He looked about eighteen years old with his height of six foot three inches and his muscular frame. He had peach colored skin with a square shaped face partially covered with dark brown curly hair and slightly green hazel eyes. He wore a gray hoodie with the hood partially covering most of his face with well matching black denim jeans and wide white sneakers.

"Your wound has been treated. I need to talk to you alone, away from all these wandering eyes."

He helped me up from the ground and led me by the hand to a dark forest. Everyone was staring at us, trying to observe what might have been a moment of intimacy under different circumstances.

"Meg! Now isn't the time to hook up with mysterious, sexy strangers!" A voice shouted at me, bringing more unwanted attention to me. I blushed from embarrassment and frustration. Today is the one day I don't want to be the most famous person in the universe and everyone is treating me like a freaking celebrity!

"I want to be left alone." I spat at him with a cold iciness in my voice. He said nothing more and went back minding his own business.

We stealthfully maneuvered our way into the quiet unpopulated forest. Finally, there was peace and quiet.

"I sense you're not much on being sociable?" My new friend asked me.

"Not really," I honestly replied. "I was so used to growing up in my sister's shadow that I grew to like not getting attention. Now before you tell me anything else, who are you and what do you want?"

"My name is Blake. I don't tell strangers my purposes without knowing their names."

"Very funny. Name's Meg. Now tell me what you know before I lie to the cops and say you tried to attack me.

"And you call me the funny one. Anyways, I know who took your sister, and I know where to find him."

"How would you know about that? You coincidently showed up after it happened."

"I saw him with her. I guess you don't need my help since you clearly know everything you need to know. Well, good luck." Blake started to walk away.

"I probably shouldn't trust you," I spoke after a brief hesistation. He turned around. "But you're lucky you're handsome."

I saw him smirk. He ran deeper into the forest and I followed behind him, wondering if it was the right thing to do.
