Til Your Luck Runs Out

Chapter 2

After taking the bus for a whole week I decided to start walking to school. It was only a couple blocks over and it beat the nasty bus. I actually appreciated the alone time.

Before leaving I made myself a chocolate protein drink and finished up some homework. My parents both left earlier this morning for work so I was on my own.

It was the the second week of school. Getting used to the huge school has been a challenge but I've been lucky to have befriended Tessa. She has introduced me to so many people it's awesome. Adam is my favorite guy above them all. I also met her two best friends Aubrey and Samantha. Aubrey and Samantha weren't at school the first day because they were traveling back from Amsterdam or something. But each day I was invited to sit with them.

This Monday is much different then last Monday. I'm more confident and can get my way around easier, and I even have some friends. I opened up the brown wooden door and walked down the hallway to locker 989. I stood there for a while just going through my phone since I was a little early.

"Happy second Monday Brooklyn Grace!" I heard Tessa shout as she walked up to me with her two minions following behind.

"Thank you Tessa I'm happier today then last week" I laughed. This was so strange, the whole having friends thing.

"And your able to get yourself to your locker" Tessa winked. "So Brooklyn Grace I'm having a back-to-school-bash this Saturday wanna come?"

"Uh yeah sure" I haven't been invited anywhere since I was 7.

"But before anything the three of us are taking you out after school to get new makeup" Tessa stated.

"Makeup?"

"Face it the purple eyeshadow just isn't doing anything for your eyes" Aubrey chimed in.

"Oh well I don't have any money for makeup right now" I said. I have never had a job.

"Brooklyn Grace Pierce my dad is a doctor and gives me money every Sunday I think I can buy you some makeup" Tessa said.

The bell rang and Aubrey and Samantha walked another way while Tessa and I went to chemistry.

"So I will drive you after school is that good?" Tessa asked

"Your driving?" I asked "your only a sophomore"

"I'm an old sophomore"

"Gotcha"

Class went by slowly and I just stared at the clock hoping it would move faster. High school is definitely not middle school and I'm not a fan of it.

"Hey Brooke wait up!" I heard some one shout. I turned around to find Adam running up to me.

"Brooklyn Grace"

"Nah I like Brooke, but hey anyway are you going to Tessa's party Saturday?"

"Yeah" I was totally blushing. He's so hot I know what Tessa means with the appearance crush. I want to melt at his feet just looking at him.

"Awesome well I see you then freshman!" He said running down the hall. Man was he hyper. Being called freshmen kind of bugged me but he asked me if I was going so maybe he wants me there.. Definitely will have to ask Tessa about that.

I was looking down at my phone when someone ran into me. Jeez it must be a Monday thing.

"I'm so sorry" a short little brown headed girl said looking up from the ground. I got down to help her pick up her books.
