Chapter 1

I looked down at her, my sister, she looked so sweet and innocent in her sleep which was so unlike her real personality. Normally she was a diva and the worst one at that, she had to have whatever she wanted when she wanted it or she would throw a fit! Mom always gave in and got her whatever she wanted which wasn't that surprising seeing as Sydney was her favorite child. I know most people say 'Mom favors her more!" just because she got the last cupcake or whatever but I have solid proof. My sister Sydney Kyles is the most famous actress, singer, model there is. Everyone loves her everyone and wants to be her, except me, because I don't like being in big crowds, always having to look perfect and getting hounded for autographs and pictures as soon as I walk out of the house. I prefer just hanging out in my room with my best friend/little sister Bethany. Why don't I get tracked by paparazzi you may ask seeing as I'm Sydney Kyles's sister? The answer is, nobody knows I exist.

The only time I get out is for movies. No, not going to the movies but being in them because the truth is Sydney has no talent, none whatsoever, and I have to take her place whenever there is acting or singing involved. (She does her own modeling.) For acting, I have to leave the house and go to the set while Sydney just sleeps in and paints her toenails. I 'm not complaining. I mean I love acting and wish that it was my name on the screen and not hers, but it's the closest I'll ever come to fame and I've learned to accept it. Singing is easy. I just record myself singing in our home recording studio for the album and she lip syncs on stage.

Oh! Did I forget to mention we are identical twins.

I looked at her again lying angelically in her V.I.P. Hospital bed. The doctor told me that last night she was driving home and crashed into a truck. She looked okay on the outside other than a few cuts and bruises but the biggest problem was she wouldn't wake up. She was in a coma for no telling how long.

My Mom burst into the hospital room. "MY BABY!" She yelled as she ran to Sydney. The doctor entered as well.

"Ms. Kyles there is nothing more we can do for her." He said with a hopeless look on his face. "There is no way to know how long it will be until she wakes up."

"You have to know! You're a doctor!" She yelled back.

"Ms. Kyles inside voice please. I cannot tell when she will awaken." He glanced over to my mother crying and holding Sydney's hand.

-4 hours later-

"Skylar! Dinners ready!" I heard Mom yell from downstairs. She never makes dinner.... Somethings up.I walked downstairs to smell Lasagna coming from the dining room. Mmm..... my favorite!

"Mom? What's going on? You never cook and on the few times you do, you never make Lasagna. You hate it."

"No I don't, I love it!"

"Bethany!" She yelled. "Come downstairs. Dinner's ready!"

"Coming!" She responded while coming down the stairs.

We sat around the dinner table and ate our Lasagna silently. Is she sucking up to me? No, not possible.

"Skylar, dear after dinner we can watch whatever program you want to watch. Possible.

"How's Sydney?" Bethany asked.

"She's doing fine. The doctor says there is a higher possibility of her waking up than not." Mom said happily.

"Oh." Bethany said and looked at her feet again. If there is one person in the world that's more shy than I am, it's Beth.

Mom looked over at me and smiled. "If there is anything you want dear, I'd be happy to go get it for you?" She said. She's treating me like Sydney, she always gets Sydney to do stuff for her when she bribes her with gifts. "Are you sure?"

"Mom that's it!" I outburst "I can't stand it! What do you want?" I know it's a rude way to talk to your Mom but she never acts nice and now she's being all buddy-buddy with me?

She looked startled for a minute. "What makes you think I want something from you?"

"Then you don't?"

"I- uh.... Yes." She responded.

"What?"

"I-uh want you to pretend to be Sydney while she's... asleep.
